It's not who we played, it's how we played with the sht HC's playcalling we just got lucky. We won on the backs of defense basically
Translation: I have a franchise qb, but I'm too big of a p***y to rely on him, so ima gonna go with the safe route and run it even if it's ineffective. This mindset right there is why we are never going to win a superbowl under this man.
This is what they did with Brady starting out. Texans are going to be hard to beat if they don’t turn the ball over. Watson hasn’t thrown a pick in three games... You have to take in to account the health of the offense.
This win doesn't let Fairebairn off the hook, we need to use the bye week to find a new competent kicker.
I hope Bob keeps ****ing up everything and keeps winning I want to see y’all continue to go batshit crazy it’s hilarious.
Ugh. All that says is he is afraid our QB will throw a pick so he's gonna run even when it isn't the most effective or smartest play. This offense wasn't much fun to watch. Glad they gave us this one. 6 in a row has never been so unexciting, but hey, I love leading our division.
Watson played like vintage Russel wilson, 70% completion, 2 Tds, 211 pass. yrds and 40 yards rushing @6.8 yds per attempt. After cooling off from the roll outs being there for the taking and like mr. buck said earlier, the stretch play being there for the taking, I think it was game all Houston fans can be proud of as both Watson and Keenum had nice moments.
U can still have a competent offense playing it "safe". Bob doing the same thing over and over is "safe", but it is too predictable hence y our offense was garbage even when we have watson. Run It to the side do something different!!!! Predictable garbage plays, yet we keep winning. Sigh.
The nfl is all about schedule and divisional strength. This is common knowledge. It’s why there’s such parity. Bill is an average HC. That’s not a batshit crazy comment... just a comment... which seems pretty obvious. This squad has zero chance of winning the super bowl. However they will have a harder schedule next year. So the only question would be can they g eat enough talent on the field to help take this average coach to a ring at some point? The sad part is that if he had the guts to hire an innovative OC to take 80% of the playbook, add 20% new and call plays, I think he could be an above average coach.
People here are so stupid, I swear. You have to run the ball to set up the pass. That's exactly what won us the games against the jaguars and dolphins. The same people that said the running game was the key to winning the last two games, are the same people that b****ing about the playcalling that won those games in the first place. You guys are just miserable, never happy about anything. This was a good win, considering all the injuries this team has had recently and Thomas still not familiar with the offense.
There’s a bazillion different run plays they could call on first down. It’s not the run/pass calls but the specific play. It’s fooling now one. The object of offense is obviously first and foremost to score. Not to not turn the ball over.
Run the ball to set up the pass is a truism that isn’t true anymore. If it ever was. In the sense that defense wins championships was never true either. Great teams win championships. Great offenses can both run to set up the pass, and pass to set up the run... in all kinds of ways.
