I'm not sure what yer trying to convey... lol I agree, he's not a minimum player - but thats all we're paying him. Folks should be thankful that we got him on such a cut rate deal... yet, folks are still on here b****in about him... i dont get it... We gave up nothing to get him and we're paying him peanuts (relatively speaking)... Is there a better use of his roster spot and minimum contract? Is there somebody else out there looking for a min contract that can go off for 28 on occasion? I havent seen or heard anything about him being a negative influence or 'cancer' on the team in any way... Unless you want to hold him accountable for SASmith's loudmouth... lol As I said... i dont understand the hate... lol
His trade value is at the highest it is going to be. Lets trade him now for a good piece, while we can! Ideally we should trade him to our rivals in the West if we can.
Hate will always be there for a former superstar/star player who did not achieve as much as his peer Lebron. No matter how much he is getting paid by us. He should have gotten used to it by now.
LOL. So, you are okay with destroying our ability to lure future buyout candidates? Come here at a cut rate and we'll use you as a bargaining chip? A GREAT incentive. Melo still has value. We picked him up off of the clearance rack. We're paying him less than MCW or Marquese Chriss or James Ennis, and you are worried that we have him on the team? "Price is what you pay, value is what you GET" - Warren Buffett We received good value for very little price. Smart money
I said we should be sending him to our rivals/contenders. To me that's sending a great message to our future buyout candidates. Says we will look after you. Yes, he has value right now. Which is why I said we should take advantage of the opportunity! This is what Morey does, he keeps trading up!
What nonsense is this?!? Trading someone who signs with us on a cut rate deal bc he wants to be here is 'looking out for him'?!? WTF are you babbling about? Man, your unwarranted disdain for Melo has blossomed into full on delusive rationalization... lol and just for the record, he can't be traded until December 15th... so why dont you put this nonsense outta yer head for another month... Why dont you give the Melo hate a rest for a few days - you've been goin nonstop for weeks now... smh...
When it comes down to it...he’s unplayable against Golden State. That’s what matters. If he contributed well in the regular season then great, but he cannot be played when it matters.
In that case its best that we dont play him until December 15th, to preserve his value. And then trade him.
or you can just revert back to insisting we cut him... that take is just as stupid and u can use that as the vehicle to continue to spew your irrational hate.... smh...
That's just silly. Why cut someone now when you can get value and return by trading him? I dont let emotions cloud my judgement or whats best in the interest of the team.
No, you don't need variety in everything. That's just something people say when it suits them in the moment. You don't need variety in something that is hurting you. For example, you don't need variety in rape. Another great example is, reducing variety in types of shots (post ups and mid range) has made all teams better, except for those who have historically elite point producers in those categories. Chris Paul is one of those rare exceptions. Embiid and Anthony Davis are other examples. Melo is not in that category, and only sniffed it in his prime years. He is hitting 40% of his 3's. Why would he waste any shots in a contested fadeaway midrange? I can't understand why this is controversial to anyone. He can be a better scorer than his "natural" self and help the team. The removal of mid range from our variety of shots made us outperform our scoring talent to historic heights. Why would we mess with that?
I wasn't using the word in the sense of the illness. I'm plenty aware of it as 3 of my family members are diagnosed. Thanks for the concern though, the illness is no joke.
Just an observation. More and more peeps are using it to help convey their arguments. But might be sensitive to those who have actually gone thru it.
Melo is on declining trend back in New York and Oklahoma city. I would cut MCW and other players first.
if you can try and hide james harden's sorry defense for all these years, you can do the same for him. But i agree, its hard for him and harden to play at the same time against an elite team like golden state. He would be good for at least fifteen minutes a game, when harden is on the bench. keep in mind, this team is not a finished product. he's a piece of the puzzle. melo and harden both need to be surrounded by four good-to-great defenders against a team like golden state. or at least 3 good ones and a decent one like chris paul. you can't have two bad defenders playing at the same time against them. you can get away with one. But that's just that team. its not like ariza was stopping kevin durant anyways. he wasn't stopping them and he was missing wide open 3s....
