Houstons commentators are bona fide homers, thats how they secure their jobs.

 

Every time I watch another team's home announcers call a game, I think, "Wow, these guys are so fair."

So, yeah, based on that ... we're #30.

 

they are ok, but they don't have the fun and crack jokes like ours do. It livens up the mood and commentary when they do that

 

Bill and Clyde are awful.

Craig and Bull are good.

Makes you think... Are we actually Rockets Fans?

 

Definitely agree with the rankings. Clippers are just not watchable, and the Rockets are only because we are fans. I remember as a ten year old muting the TV and listening to the Radio broadcast as many many others did the same, that was 20 years ago, so it has gotten worse. Bill Worrell is just a complete disgrace to sports.

 

Bull gets boring at times when he just repeats what he says in other games about how the Rockets want to play

Eh, people are morons. Our crew said bad calls were made in favor of Rockets last night AND tonight, plus Bullard always calls out good calls for the officials for both sides, especially after replays.

I've definitely heard worse homer announcers, and 30th is laughable but whatever.

 

Tommy Heinsohn is by far the biggest homer. Granted he is hilariously funny when he gets mad

 

F that. I watch the Rockets broadcast because I want a biased Rockets fan giving commentary. Worrell's age and Clyde's indifference amuse me all the time. Bull and Craig are good at what they do, but I'm not here for a class, I'm mostly here for entertainment. I like the mix they have going.

What would be legendary is if MOREY, Murphy and Worrell took it over for one game. Maybe Worrell's retirement game.

 

Craig is really good. So is Bull.

 

I don’t need unbiased commentating when watching the Rockets. I want bias confirmation that the refs are ****ing us over every time lol. Clyde is truly terrible though.

 

Clyde is the WORST and the fact the people charge can't see that or choose not to do something about makes me question their judgment.

Now Clyde was a geat player and love that he's from Houston but as a TV guy he's got to go.

 

Outside of Clyde they have gotten better on the calls over the past few seasons

 

I like Worrell from a nostalgia point of view. But from a nuts and bolts point of view, he is past his prime. No question.

Bullard is corny but harmless. Nothing special. Just OK.

Ackerman is excellent. And they were right to promote him to the road games.

Drexler is GOD AWFUL. In every way. And has zero chemistry with everyone else. He is obtuse. He is a flat out embarrassment, tbh. :-(

They miss Calvin Murphy badly. He provided REAL insight and wasn't afraid to call out issues. The viewer got treated as an adult.

 

Sorry for bumping this thread, but man, hearing Bill Worrell and Bull is like hearing Andy Griffin and Barney Fife. It's excruciating.

I miss the days of Bill and Calvin.

 

The guys on orange whoops as used to call the mute button the Worrell button. I always appreciated that. Horrible at basketball, crime against humanity when he was doing baseball.
