GORDON purposely tanking so nobody will take his contract to avoid trade?

I think its more of a mental thing, he did get traded here but bonded well with the players ,city and gm.He felt all the love and was on cloud 9 ,but him hearing he could get traded probably put him in a depressing mood,which is understandable to why hes been playing poorly.

Never understood people here not understanding how important Gordon is to this team.

Gordon might be struggling right now but to me he is just a notch below James and CP when it comes to importance to the team.

His shooting opens up driving lanes for CP and Harden.

A big reason the Rockets are struggling this season is because he is struggling. Once he gets his form back, the offense will be back to being efficient.

If he gets traded, say goodbye to whatever hopes Rockets might have left for contending.

Im a Gordon homer, I’m sure you’ve seen my Gordon superstarism thread but if it means landing jimmy butler it’s not even a question.

 

We need to retain Gordon and get Butler. The swap is a parallel move or slightly better than parallel move but still not good enough.

Gordon is a sniper with a better range than Butler. When going up against Warriors you need players like Gordon to match with the Warriors shooting.

Butler is a better all around player but he is not as prolific a shooter as Gordon when he is on.

Ideally, to match the Warriors, we need to add Butler, keep Gordon, and then add one more sniper, like Lou Williams or someone.

This team is no where close to competing with the Warriors and one of the reasons is that we dont have enough dead eye 3 point shooters.

 

In an ideal world I agree. I would still take butler over Gordon because he’s better overall. I do get your point about the shooting though and I agree but I think butler could fill the void enough but you’ll still be missing some. Also butlers defense helps.

 

We could have used Gordon in tonight's game. Still glad we won.

No. He’s trying, but his shot just isn’t falling. I get frustrated when people automatically assume that a player “doesn’t want to win as badly” if his shots aren’t falling.

There’s a difference between missing shots, and just not giving effort.
