Just how much absurdity, outright bigotry, and bizarre behavior from trump do you have to witness in order to make up your mind? That someone could go from "leaning Democratic" to "toss-up" in the current climate blows my mind. You can't be living under a rock. It would be hard to post from under a rock, I'm thinking. This "caravan?" It's a dog-whistle for bigots, and trump is really cranking out the lies now. The "caravan" is still 900 miles away, and he's needlessly taking serving professionals in our military from their families and far more important things like, you know, protecting our country, and sending them to the border, something the Pentagon has no interest in doing. America doesn't use the military for civilian law enforcement, unless the security of the nation is in danger. That is simply not the case. It's trump spewing BS to gin up his hard right base, populated by a heavy dose of bigots, who incredibly lap up every lie as if it's The Word from On High.
He is a convicted criminal. A number of people that work for him are convicted criminals. He has been forced to apologize and has been fined numerous times for the inaccuracies he has reported. If you just like him because he is a conservative, so be it, but he has a terrible reputation and no journalistic standing at all.
I really wish sports players and coaches would just leave politics alone. It's their right to say what they want of course. And it's my right to quit watching, which I have done with the NFL; and increasingly with the NBA as well. Just speaking objectively (I hope) -- entertainers should realize, if they were smart, that there's very little upside in becoming political. All it does it divide and diminish your fan base. We watch sports to get away from the "real world," just as we do when we watch movies.
It got a reality TV star elected President, an actor Governor of California, a pro wrestler Governor of Minnesota, etc....
Why... because they tend to favor those you don't? Why should athletes and entertainers not exercise their rights as citizens? And why should they not take advantage of their visibility and celebrity to help effect change they favor? There are athletes and entertainers on both sides... I don't recall you complaining when Clint Eastwood spoke to an empty chair on stage, and trump just had bobby knight appear at his Indiana campaign event.
how can you forget Ronald Reagan, the actor / radio host turned the Gov of Calif, and then a 2-term POTUS
And big stars like Sonny Bono (replaced by his wife, was recently a topic here) and the biggest star of all, Fred Gandy (Gopher, from Love Boat).
No, of course not. But perhaps @TheresTheDagger won't allow himself to be suckered by anything coming from Project Veritas again. He's generally far above that kind of nonsense. Maybe he had forgotten the history of O'Keefe, or for some reason thought that this time would be the first time that he approached something honestly. I can't speak for him and why he bought into it.
