But they WERE getting mismatches. They were running the Rockets through screens until they got the match-up they wanted... usually Capela or Carmelo... and cleared everyone out, backed the ball up, and went 1 on 1 and blew past whoever was guarding them. And then the Rockets weren't rotating quick enough from the weak side to contest. And it resulted in easy lay-ups or kick-out 3's. And that's exactly what Brett Gunning said.
Honestly, this is the first time in a few games that we've had some momentum . Hopefully we can keep it up in the second half
We had better bigs last year through the season. We had more of Nene and even Ryno was a decent big that you could put on the floor and do something. Ryno mainly lost his value because he stopped being a good shooter (Like Gordon is now) but he was at least height on the floor. We also had Black too who we should be trying to sign again because he's a capable big that can spell Capela some minutes... As for the switching stuff, I've been whining about that all year, but we need to be able to have a capable big on the floor at all times. Hartenstein and Chriss just are not ready and I'm not sure if they ever will be.
Its not a fluke, they're just bad now. We're still taking bad contested long 3s and giving opposing team all kinds of mismatch advantage when they have the ball..
I think unless we have James and Chris in there, along with Clint, we have too big of a hole to fill. Nobody can replace any of them well enough to make up the difference. I mean we only had James and Chris in two games so far. Hopefully, we start winning once that changes. If not, we are doomed.
