Congrats on winning the stupidest post of the day on Clutchfans, this is honestly one of the most moronic posts I have seen in a long time. I mean I just want to quote it so that people can read that twice, they are going to want to. It will be hard to grasp the idiocy the first time through.

    Heh. If you say so.

    1) then perhaps you should write more clearly
    2) I don't see how this is not what you are arguing -- when people say "I'm willing to pay more taxes" -- I don't see how this is not an argument for the government to raise taxes on everyone
    3) anybody -- and I do mean anybody -- can do what I have done: if they have the discipline. And that's my point.

The rest of your post is just outraged "heat."

Heh. If you say so. Most people who die before they are elderly made very bad decisions. Of course, there are always exceptions to everything. But the exceptions prove the rule.

Also, whenever you have to resort to personal attacks -- "stupid", "idiocy" -- it means that your argument lacks merit. Just so you know.

    Geeeeeez, sunshine project much?

I was speaking to your post, not you as a person directly. Where did I call you stupid? Also, I wasn't making an argument I was making a statement about a post. A statement that I still stand by. "just so you know"

I think resorting to the blame game shows that your argument lacks merit. All you have to do is look at the number of kids under the age of 15 that die from cancer each year to know that your statement lacks mental aptitude. . . . . . Is that better? I don't want you to feel triggered by my mean words.

I'm not sure how you could call my remarks stupid and idiotic and not be implying that about me as a whole. And, even if I'm wrong about this, it still isn't useful to use heated language. All that does is lead people to quit listening to you.

Well, if we could get back on topic, I will concede a bit. I know a lady that passed recently of cancer, she was in her latter forties/early 50s. Pancreatic cancer. She did not have health insurance. But guess what? She divorced her husband (through which she could have gotten insurance), and she also didn't study in school, which meant that she had a not-so-great job, that didn't give her insurance.

She didn't choose to have pancreatic cancer, but she most definitely made choices that led her to not having insurance.

In the end, she set up a GoFundMe, which received a lot of contributions, although not to the level she wanted. But, if you don't have health insurance, you need to rely on your family, friends and your community, rather than imposing your costs on the taxpayer. If your family, friends and community won't help you out -- then that says something about you, and how you have lived your life.

And, as is often the case with Pancreatic cancer, it moved so fast that none of this really mattered. But a lot of health insurance monies could probably have been spent in a vain effort, as was the case with my mother.

I think this sort of thing is typical. Again: people's choices.

I can't gainsay your comment about the children. I can only say two things about that. 1) Where are the parents? It's their responsibility to keep their kids cared for. It isn't society's responsibility. And that is my second point. 2) How in the world did we get to the place politically where everyone's needs have to be taken care of, but at someone else's expense? That's what remains baffling to me.

Wow, Look if I want to insult you I will come right out and just call you an idiot, I don’t beat around the bush. Seriously it’s an internet message board like me calling you an idiot would be catastrophic to your day. I mean is this junior high where you read between the lines and make assumptions based on things I said about a thing that you are sure was really meant to be applied to you?

Crazy, thought I was dealing with adults here, my mistake.

Please justify to me how a child under the age of 15 who dies from cancer made some kind of poor choice leading up to that. Nearly 100,000 kids a year in the United States die from cancer. I guarantee that some of those parents have insurance but please tell me how that is the parents or kids fault that they got cancer and died. Since everyone under the age of 65 dies because of choices.

You think single payer is a free ride. What Uncle Sam is only going to knock on your door asking for the money to pay for the program. Look I am sure you can tell me how internet rich you are but your not that rich.

Don’t respond I am done here. You have proven yourself enough.

Heh. I'll respond anyway. You've shown yourself to be another member of the unhinged left. I never said I was rich.

As for the "children" -- who said life was fair? BTW, you can justify any tax or any government program by going to the "it's for the children" card.

100,000 kids a year dying of cancer is horrible, but I'm not sure why my hard earned money should be confiscated to deal with it. They're not my children.

Single-payer will inevitably lead to the growth of the government and its inefficiency, and higher taxes. Look at any government program for an example. We need to quit looking to the government for solutions to all of our problems.

Is that why we have the huge deficit on a healthy economy right now?

I would argue that the reason we have a deficit is because the government is addicted to spending, and to pandering to voters with promises of spending. Let's cut back the spending, and give workers more of their money back. And Trump made a start with this the other day, with his directive for agencies and departments to cut their spending by 5%. It's not much, but it's something.

No, just guilty of making ignorant statements.

    Continually.

Tell us again how Canada is not very diverse. LOL.

Ok.....Canada is not very diverse. Also, it depends on what you mean by diverse -- skin color, language, religion?

Ok went and looked this up, and found this:

"32.3% of Canadians considered their ethnic origin to be Canadian. Other major groups recorded were English (18.3%), Scottish (13.9%), French (13.6%), Irish (13.4%), German (9.6%) and Chinese (5.1%). When reading these figures, you should bear in mind that census respondents could select multiple ethnic groups.[21]

Nearly 22% of the population is now foreign-born, and about 60% of new immigrants come from Asia, particularly China and India.[21] "

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Canada#Population_projection

If you take all the "white"/Euro groups together -- it's not a diverse picture, at least in terms of skin color. It's an overwhelming majority.

I should say that when I said "because everybody is pasty and white" -- I thought it was obvious that this was an attempt at humor. Jokes are lost on some people.

First you need to learn the meaning of diversity.

Secondly considering yourself Canadian does not mean you are white I am black and consider myself American.

Ok, please tell me what diversity means.

I'm not sure I understand the second sentence.

I made the (mostly joking) assertion that Canada is overwhelmingly white. Then I was called out on it.

So, I went and looked and the data and found out that Canada is ......overwhelmingly white.
