I think that story that came out awhile back with Riley effectively telling Thibs to **** off after having a deal in place and then Thibs asking for more picks is starting to sound true. I don’t even think the Rockets are even bidding against anyone at this point. It’s just stupid Minny never being able to realize they need to make a deal.
Nah.... there was that time that he traded for Chris Paul, to have Stern void it....... then shortly there after had a deal for Gasol..... and Stern voided it. Supposedly he almost walked away over that.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ta-timberwolves-rest-vs-utah-jazz-travel-team As the Minnesota Timberwolves remain stagnant in trade talks for Jimmy Butler, the All-Star forward has expressed his intention to join the team on its trip to Golden State for Friday night's game, league sources told ESPN. Butler will miss Wednesday's home game against Utah for what the team is calling "general soreness and precautionary rest." Houston, Miami and Philadelphia are among the teams struggling early that have an interest in Butler, but there's a collective belief that Timberwolves president and coach Tom Thibodeau isn't ready to seriously negotiate a trade yet, league sources said. Thibodeau discussed with Butler and the team's medical staff his absence for Wednesday's game. However, Butler has told associates that he plans to play against the Warriors on Friday night, sources told ESPN. Butler and his representative continue to express frustration in what they believe is Minnesota's inaction in honoring his trade request, and they have been pushing owner Glen Taylor to speed up the process, sources said.
Thibs has ZERO desire to make a deal. He really believes he can play him this year and convince him to resign. The only way a deal gets done is if Taylor steps in..... and so far he hasn't. At this point Butler is likely the one that will need to force a trade.
