It seems like only yesterday when we were riding high crushing teams and leading the way in the West.

Unfortunately, those days may be long gone.

    What happened?

    Who's fault is it?

My vote is torn between the change in ownership and the players themselves.

It just looks like there is no effort defensively when the shots arent falling in.

    Players.
Gordon right now stinking it up pretty bad
Paul two below average games and not as good as last season
Harden while still spectacular not as good as last season
    Ennis major flop
Clint looks nothing like last season especially on defense
    MCW pure garbage

Only tucker has been good as last season.

tilman insisted to only sign minimum contract players and tilman didn't ante up to replace bigleydick. morey gets honorable mention here for inexplicably signing mcw

au contraire, the fault is upon those who thought the team regressed, negative thinking is the most powerfull force in the universe

Who's fault after only 5 games? We have a new mix of players to work in, that will take more than 5 games to do. Can we give it 20 games before we pass judgement on this group? It takes time to figure out what you really have. Everyone wants us to just pick up where we left on last season, but it doesn't work like that. New players, new roles, new chemistry to build.

Everybody likes PJ now, but last year we didn't know what we had in him until about 25 games in.

Are we going to pretend like injuries aren’t a big part of this?

The change in ownership happened before last season...so why would that be an issue now?

    Idk?

Maybe because it was the new owners $ or lack there of that we were spending or saving this offseason.

Does the acquisition of MCW ring a bell?

Gordon, CP3 and Harden are missing layups. Gordon can't even make open 3's.

Capela forgot how to defend. That's not MDA or anyone else's fault.

    A perfect storm:
    1) League offenses getting better/freedom of movement
    2) Replacing good defenders with bad defenders
    3) Replacing efficient offensive players with bad offensive players
    4) Bad luck (bad shooting)
    5) Lack of defensive coach to help
    6) Small sample size
    7) Age
    8) Hangover

I blame the entire coaching staff..
Not one of these guys could see that the old switch defense scheme would not work. Guess it’s true MDA only spends about 10min practicing defense.

I voted Morey. But threads like this are useless because the blame is everywhere. MDA's rotations have been bad (starting MCW, really?) and the players have been sleepwalking. Bzdelik left without enough time to sufficiently replace him, which also sucks.

I fully support Morey. But he screwed up by not getting another rotation quality big man. We can't rebound or deter people from layup drills. If we could do one of those things we could at least stop the bleeding sometimes.

Can you give specific details in where the change in ownership has been an issue?

I think Morey only let Ariza and Luc walk under the direction of Tilman.

I just don't think Les would have let a team that was that close to a title lose important pieces to save money.
