It's essentially adding a Gordon for Gibson and Jones swap to the proposed 4 pick package. I'd try to make it 3 picks instead of 4 but I'd do it either way with the proper protections.

 

Daryl.... just include Gordon... you know you are going to anyway... so just get it over with. Give them 2-3 firsts and get it over with.

Idk, Shams made a report that the Wolves had no interest in Chriss or Knight, but we really dont know anything right now. We just know they want Eric Gordon and picks.

There might be more to it but I like the way you think haha

 

If we end up not getting Butler it will be another one of those THANK GOD! in hindsight deals. It seems like every time there's a bunch of hype and drama in the process of getting a player and it gets dragged out we lose out on the deal and there is a huge sigh of relief within 4 - 6 months.

This makes perfect sense except the Wolves want to be competitive so they don’t want to move Gibson.

From the Rockets perspective it isn’t as simple as adding Gordon, it also means that the Rockets are stuck with Knight for two years.

 

It comes down to what the Wolves want. They want to be competitive now.

 

Who is "they" though. Really it might be just Thibs, cause we know Taylor wants the picks. Who knows what their GM wants.

 

Anyone hear that the Wizards are kinda in disarray? Maybe Rockets should look towards doing some deal with them.

Also, if the Rockets insist on including Knight, he would still need to pass the med exam. He is still injured and might likely fail it.n When is he scheduled to return on the court?

 

Guys the whole reason for the four first rounders is because Gordon or Tucker are not in the deal. If you include Gordon alone I cannot see Houston offering more than 2 1st round picks. A realistic trade based on what's been discussed IMO is Gordon, Chris and 2 1st round picks for Butler. Not sure how I would feel about the deal, but that looks like it could work.

 

Lakers at Minnesota tomorrow nite. Hoping for another listless performance for the Wolves to spur on the owner to make the trade on Wed.

If Beal were to become available he'd be the obvious main target. I think Washington has a wee bit of sense though and will part with John Wall instead.

 

True, but with Gordon gone in the given scenario, that’s the role Melo would play. The offensive weapon off the bench. It’s a different type of weapon, but he’d be the best one the Rockets would have off the bench. Not a spark like Green, but a sub that could create when needed. Not arguing Melo is better than Gordon. Just painting a picture of how the rotation and roles would look like if Gordon was dealt for Butler.

Well that's kinda expected anyway, Woj said they were still interested (like the Sixers) yesterday, i never thought Riley was going to give up, all that talk about him unplagging the cable and saying mother****er to Thibs was pretty obviously classic bs said from Miami guys to make him look cool.
