Have fun being a delusional fan that's happy with mediocrity. U and others are the reason why BoB will continue coaching our team to being average.
I'm happy that we won and have rallied from 0-3 to win 5 straight yes. I'm happy that we just scored 42 points, even if it's against a bad defense. It's not like they were gonna score 70, this isn't college football... I'm happy that our QB is Deshaun Watson. If I can't find it in myself to be happy about those things then I really shouldn't even be watching. You are welcome to go root for the Cowboys or Giants.
There's nothing wrong being happy for all the reason u listed above, i'm happy for it also. What i can't fathom is how any of these things relate to our shtty HC. IT's like saying I/u love the Rockets with Mchale as hc when it was Harden carrying his sorry ass to playoffs while he just claps his hands saying "play harder". BOB is a sht coach holding us back from greatness, and we not gonna win any SB with this guy leading us.
Well we just scored 42 points, and he calls the plays. Sure we have the players, but what the hell am I supposed to b**** about after a game I thought he coached well. Overall this season he's been average at best, but it's just weird to complain after a good performance. It's like complaining that the weather is awful bc it rained all week on a day when the sun finally comes out...
His usage of time out, his lack of challenge flags on sht ref calls. There's little mistakes here and there (i might be nitpicking), but for a guy who "repeatedly says he will do better", he still does the same ole sht. Like i said... just because we won doesn't mean our hc isn't sht. Positive results doesn't mean one can't criticize at all. At best i would say he only coached decently half of a game.
I would say he coached an A or A- game. We were 4/4 in red zone. He didn't b**** out on 4th down. We ran in less predictable situations. The reality is very few coaches are good at "game management." I think it's just extremely easy to hate on him bc he's usually a defensive prick at every press conference, but you are definitely nit picking in a game we won 42-23. Sure address the mistakes and move on, but at the same time we should be judging this team based on the progression and improvement throughout the season. Not the stupid loss to the Giants. Ditto for the o-line, etc, etc.
Never said they did. O'Brien has only done so reluctantly. Took him until the 3rd game of Watson last year and didn't do it much early this year
It looked awful to start this season. Defenses clearly keyed in on it. They ran very little last night, and it was Watson's best game as a pro. He's still got a ways to go as developing as a QB... but there's progress being made each week.
bob gets plenty of deserved criticism but i dont think he gets enough credit for the fact that his teams usually seem to improve and get better as the year goes on. That wouldnt happen if the team quit on the coach.
Give BOB more than 15 games with his new toy Watson. Once we get an OL in place and play action working watch the **** out. This O is going to be something special.
The point is that any player can be hurt at any time for any number of reasons. Do you remember how he got hurt to begin with? If not, here is a reminder: "Watson’s injury was said to have happened during a practice-field play on which he was not hit." So, why again, take a chance on your franchise player in a game in which they were ahead by 19 points with less than 5 minutes left?
Yes 8 games into the season he has a great game (I think he was good other games but the OL and playcalling held him back). If the stuff OBrien is calling isn't working, that's on him. That's been the issue for 5 years.
Do you remember that it was actually more likely he got hurt in the Seattle game before and finished the tear in practice? I guess not. The point is the Texans have lost games up 19 with 5 minutes left before. And so have other teams. He was handing the ball off, threw one pass. We don't need to treat him like a newborn baby.
According to you, when the offense looks good it’s because O’brien let Watson improvise and do whatever he wants.... when it looks bad, it’s all because of the coach. It’s tiring and old. You need a new schitck.
The Texans have never blown a 19 point lead with 5 minutes left. Their biggest blown lead in their entire history was 21 points followed by an 18 point blown lead and both of those leads had already dwindled in the 4th quarter, And, since the argument seems to be, “ all he did was hand off”, couldn’t Weeden have done that?
Have you seen how often Brady comes out in blowouts? I understand the theoretical risk that anything can happen on the field at any point/time... but then again, it can also happen off the field, or in practice, or in the locker room, or when he's in his pajamas... Also, keeping Watson in keeps their defense on its toes... even though all he did was hand off. Putting in Weeden creates an "open season" effect, where the defense could have gambled a bit more, created more disruption, and cut into the score further. I understand if its 48-3 or something like that... at that point, not only is your QB out, but most of your core offensive players. The Texans still had Hopkins, Miller, all the O-line out there.... along with Watson. One offensive mistake leading to a Miami TD, and its still possible Miami can make a game of it.
I never said that. I've read other people say that but I didn't. My position has always been that O'Brien's system and playcalling suck (and the data backs that up- bottom 10 offense every year). The offense has been good when he replaced it with something better for Watson where there's more misdirection and play-action and not slow-developing iso routes, but O'Brien either doesn't stick with it or can't get it to work consistently. Yes Watson is good at improvising, but he's good in systems as well. PFF has graded him pretty well this year despite the offense overall sucking.
