Trump has his Kangaroo Court - three branches of the gov't are in his pocket now. Only thing stopping him is the DOJ/FBI and the election and he is bringing in Russia to help with that.

If Avenatti had any part in coercing someone to give a false statement, I hope they nail him. He's just another Trump, trying to scratch his way to the presidency on the left side.

That said, this feels more political than anything as Grassley is just an old, partisan hack.

The women signed a sworn statement under penalty of law, and now she is claiming she only "skimmed" it and parts were not true. How do you only "skim" a document of that magnitude? Surely she realized the gravity of the situation and allegations within.

I also don't see how it really undermines the story. The anonymous source essentially said "I agree" to Swetnick's declaration. Now the source is saying "hey wait, I never saw him spike the punch!" Well, there were a lot more serious allegations in that declaration than spiking the punch. Not exactly the bombshell they try to make it out to be.

Regardless, shame on NBC for not updating the story when they had knowledge the supporting source was waffling.

Why is this breaking? This third account has been known to be false for a while.

If Ford or the Yale woman were shown to be false or if either recanted, that would be big news.

I understand why Kav bros will want to focus on the false accusation, absolutely, but nobody should pretend that weakens the more legitimate allegations.

If there is any justice, he'll be impeached for perjury before Congress, going back to when he was giving testimony to get his former seat on the federal district court, and lied to do it. That is a felony. That is, if there is any justice, with ancient partisan hacks like Grassley determined to toss justice in the toilet. Not exactly the America I've been familiar with for a very long time, but then again, fans of trump and Kavanaugh and Grassley and McConnell care little for justice and bipartisanship, unless they can twist "justice" to achieve their own narrow political goals, bipartisanship be damned, driven by the extremists of this troubled country where I have lived all my life.

This serves to remind why the whole Ford fiasco was a mistake. There simply was nobody to corroborate Fords story yet this fiasco went on far too long. The bar was leveled so low that 'journalist' and the anti BK crowd was willing to celebrate anonymous accusations as a reaffirmation of the Ford story.

The Ford fiasco aside, BK probably doesn't deserve to be on the Supreme Court. But our politicians must stop lowering themselves into the gutter to get their way. Many thought Bush was bad, but then the Republicans gave you Trump. Almost all of us agree Trump is bad. It can get worse. And the Republicans are not the only ones guilty of this.
