Great person. Average NBA'er. He's not a bad player. There's definitely worse players in the NBA. But he's not great either. Average NBA player. Should be ranked at about the 175th to 225th best NBA player.
True, but I think he fits next to Harden better than most other bigs would. He seems like the perfect type of player to get his level elevated by playing alongside Harden. I don't think a guy like Plumlee would flourish as much.
Nobody said this before his big contract. They said Capela is the best NBA center. He destroyed Towns and Gobert in playoffs. Lol.
Plenty of fans here said that about Beverley too. Ideal fit next to Harden. I read it a thousand times. I kept saying that either Bev or Ariza had to be changed out for another playmaker and that the ideal point guard next to Harden was an actual playmaking point guard. Great players make bad players look ok, mediocre players look good, and average players like Capela look great. And they make fans think all the role players are indispensable pieces and perfect fits. It's only when the team meets it's death match in the playoffs that we can really learn what it needs to get better. Every season before Paul we got knocked out because we had nobody else on the floor with Harden that could make plays. That's why I knew it had to be fixed. And we weren't going to win a ring without another primary playmaker sharing possessions alongside Harden. Last season it became obvious to anybody that really knows basketball and watched the series against the Warriors that we don't match up with them when they go Durant/Green at the 4/5 and we've got Capela in there. And that's still the case. Nothing's changed from then until now except the rest of the league is going smaller and spreading the floor more and more making even Capela become less useful. So while he may be the "perfect fit" when we ain't playing Golden State or teens that are playing small, he's not really the perfect fit. He's a role player and more than that he's a situational player. Wet need a multi-dimensional shooter/finisher than can defend multiple positions on switches to play the 4/5 interchangeably with Tucker and Melo in order to get past the Warriors. We won't beat them (and maybe even others) with Capela in our top 6 this season and maybe not even top 7. We need an upgrade there as well as a real starting small forward.
I know. They've been howling about my view of Capela for a couple years now. Funny how opinions and expectations suddenly move when a player starts cashing big checks. And funny how their performance almost always slips after they get that big long term contract. It's practically a guarantee that non-star players will regress after they get big money. Guys that study the NBA should already know that if they're really students of the Association.
Clint lead the league in FG% was 4th in WS/48 and 11th in WS and he’s not even a top 100 guy? Sounds like a lot of dudes need to fire their agents.
I think he is better than 175th NBA player but his inability to shoot long range shots is a problem. He is a having an up and down year. He did well against Towns and Gobert last year which was his best year so far. The Center position isn't as important nowadays as the 3 pt shooting PF position. The perfect guy would be a more agile Tim duncan, PF/C hybrid who can shoot 3s.
All this JB Carroll thread and we're only hours away from LAC versus ROCKETS and no one is talking about CP3 going against his old team from the Tunnel!!!
There must be something going on, Clutch has been away for 17 hours. More focus on Jimmy threads than the actual game thread that's not existing.
he is not lazy he is trying to do more than he can to justify the big money so he underperformed under the pressure of too much
