    1) Value wise for us, end of the 1st round is similar to top of the 2nd round--particularly since 2nd rounders have lower salary, given we will be salary-maxed.
    2) If there is one consistent value-add that morey has shown over his tenure, it is being able to upgrade FA/fringe of the league types into 2nd-round values. If anything his ability to scout/homegrow superstars is unproven. Makes total sense to spend big $$$ on proven all-stars, and rely on scouting to fill out the rest of the roster with 2nd rounders

Wouldn't surprise me to see us get a couple 2nd rounders/equivalent value thrown back in the deal

Lotto protected for the last 2 picks i bet. The first two picks likely not lotto protected, but Rockets don't care. So that must mean they aren't giving up Gordon or PJ. It will have to be Knight, Chriss along with those picks for Butler.

We started the season 1-3 and Morey gets us going wild. How did he do that?

Great deal as long as we don't have to give up Gordon and Tucker. Who cares about early 2nd round picks.
Sam Dekker, Jeremy Lamb, Royce White. Who cares. CP3, Tucker, Harden don't have many years left and either do I

If we send 4 picks I wish we would have just crammed Anderson down their throats as a cap match and keeped Melton.

    Melton > MCW.

Plus it would be over now and & have better depth.

Thibs isn’t going to want just 4 first rounders. He is going to want players that help him now. He isn’t worried about 2023 or 2025. Which means this is a deal that the Wolves may pass on unless they are getting Gordon and/or some of the Rockets picks are conveyed for a player to a third team.

Also I don’t see the Rockets having much protection if any on those 4 picks IF Chriss and Knight are going to Minnesota. The Wolves will be paying 35 million dollars for those two over the next two years. They are going to want real value for that in addition to moving Butler for value.

I haven’t had a chance to ask but my guess is this offer is on a scale where the Wolves can get fewer picks but get someone like Gordon.

The Rockets offer of 4 picks is not insane when you look at what the Rockets are really asking the Wolves to do. The Rockets are asking for Butler AND the Wolves to take on two worthless players with 20 million on obligations this year and 15 million next year. That is a lot to ask. Not to mention that the Rockets lose hypothetically no one of current value.

If thibs wanted Gordon he shoulda done the deal earlier . I keep hearing different things about thibs .... and they are polar opposites. One camp says he wants to get fired and paid ... and the other is that he want to win now at all costs to keep his job lol .

There is no way the rockets should offer Gordon and more than 2 firsts . Even 2 would be pushing it .

Knight will be an expiring next year . Those always have some value ... especially now that the cap is not exploding .

The picks may or may not be great . The by the 23' CP3 will probably be retired and harden will be like 34 , butler will be 35 .... if we even still have him .

Furthermore the picks are useful as currency in other trades and allow you to be creative with your own picks

Sounds a little the BKN Nets mortgaging their future for Garnett and PP. Difference is, the nets built a team of old grampas... we have the MVP and one of the brightest young centers in the league. Also Butler would be in his prime still.

Good news for WB and OKC. They get to play Brooker less Suns and get their first win and WB becomes talk of MVP again with his triple double

and proclaiming to Isiah Cannan "NO MORE EASY LAYUP. I AIN"T PLAYING THAT SHT NO MORES" - WB

Unless Thibs has had a lobotomy, he wants to win now. It isn’t to save his job, it is because he doesn’t want to lose.

I would do Gordon and three firsts if I can keep Tucker. Unless the Rockets hit rock bottom, I don’t overly care about picks in the 20’s when I can add a top 15 player. Hell I will drive Eric to the airport if they throw in Jones.

I haven’t looked at the numbers, but send me Butler and Taj and Jones and they can have Gordon and 4 firsts.

I’ll take my chances with adding Butler, Gibson and Jones and losing only Gordon and Knight and Chriss and someone like Nene.

Ya to me it’s nothing like the nets deal.

Pierce kg and terry were old it was like trading for 3 Melos last year when okc picked him up.

All those guys had clearly declined the last season in Boston.

Nets were moving into the new arena had joe Johnson and Derron Williams. They thought those old has been a could put them over the top.
