You guys actually think giving up 4 1st round picks is a bad thing? What valuable assets could the Rockets get from late first round picks, anyways? lmao

So what? The 4 1st round picks the Rockets are trading will be late first round picks anyway. Is worth having a 1st round pick if it's at 1 through 13.

I never thought any of those things though. I was completely on board with all of those moves from the minute he made them. I think the majority of clutchfans were.

Late first round picks are not valuable. They're weak....

Jimmy B himself was 30th pick overall, Clint Capela was 25th, draymond green was 35th, I could keep going... there is potential value in any pick, especially first rounders.

Draymond Green was a second rounder, Jimmy Butler, and Clint Capela were both second round talent. They both could of been drafted at 40th, and still have the same result from them....

None of them could have been drafted 40th because all three were off the board by then. By this logic, a late first rounder is more valuable than the 40th pick. I would think this goes without saying but I just want to make this clear.

You agree that all three players I named are starting caliber players yea? They all start for their respective teams, so at least the coaches agree with me. What I’m saying is, starting caliber players can be found with late first round picks. Any of those three guys could have been drafted with late first rounders. 2 of them WERE drafted with late first rounders.

You say late first rounders aren’t valuable but I’d say picking up any of these three guys is very valuable. They’re good players.

No, you are very wrong. Late first round picks are as valuable as a second round picks. Draymond Green is the proof of it. And yes Jimmy Butler, and Capela could of still been the same players they are today if the were drafted in the 40th pick.

But they weren’t drafted 40th. All three were completely unavailable at 40. If you wanted one of those three players you needed a pick before 40th. For Clint and jimmy you needed a first rounder or else you’re not getting them. For draymond you needed one of the first 35 picks or else you’re not getting him.

Draymond isn’t proof. He could have been picked anywhere 1-34. All teams with picks before 36th had the chance to draft him. There are tons of teams that missed on him, but any of them could have had him because their draft order made it a possibility.

In other words, first rounders have more potential value than second rounders because the pool of players to choose from is larger.

Your logic makes no sense either. LeBron James would be the same player drafted 60th or 1st. This statement says nothing about the potential value of a first rounder. It only says that Lebron is the player he is. It says nothing substantial.

I gotta stop replying to you after this one. We’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m completely baffled how you’re not understanding this simple concept.

They got Capela with a late 1st round pick.

But even without those picks, Morey is solid at finding gems in the 2nd round. There's also undrafted FAs, G-league players, and vet min players that he continue filling the roster with.
