I'm going to regret trying to engage, but watch the video of the moron yahoo I posted cheering this on. That is exactly the type of Trumpie who would do this.

Someone sane and intelligent would have the sense not to do this, but those type of people dont send people pipe bombs via the mail in the first place.

We already know that there is confirmation that the devices were functional.

You're looking for political calculation and rationality from someone who is sending bombs to politicians. Think about that for a minute.

Not assuming who did this is exactly what I am doing. It's not what I've been reading here in D&D from trump supporters. They've been immediately repeating "preemptive excuses" from fringe sites pumping out extremist right-wing nonsense, dangerous nonsense, similar to the dangerous rhetoric repeated over and over again by trump and his syncophants. The mainstream media is, "the enemy of the people." In other words, freedom of the press is a danger to the United States. That's from the "president" of the United States. Words that are dangerous.

Mr. trump's regime and his blind supporters are attacking the Fourth Estate that the Founders of our country deliberately protected under our constitution, because they aren't the muzzled pro-government press in countries like China or Russia, two prominent actors in attacking a free press, and now Turkey. A member of the press who disagrees with the "government," or simply reporting news that happens to be unfavorable to the oligarch and the like in charge? You could be assaulted and thrown in jail on trumped up charges, which has been happening in Turkey, or "disappeared," fate unknown, which has been happening in China, or beaten, jailed, or murdered, which has been happening under Putin's Russia.

There's a reason trump has constantly mimicked Putin and Erdogan and Xi. He's envious and his envy has been blatantly obvious. That should frighten the hell out of you, Astrodome, and I'm not seeing the fear. It frightens me. Waiting to see who's responsible for these attacks, all on Democratic leaders, or prominent critics of trump's government, was apparently too logical for the ardent fans of trump. They had to immediately come up with bizarre conspiracy theories in an attempt to blame the bomb attacks on those who were attacked. Getting push back from those under assault is entirely predictable, but trump and his strongest supporters cannot abide those disagreeing. Calling those attacks on the victims by a shocking number of trump supporters both inside and outside of the media "bizarre" seems inadequate. Incredibly dangerous is nearer the mark. Dangerous and an attack on one of the foundations of our republic.

Why are you still posting after your own faulty logic and bias was proven?

I already rebutted his faulty logic.

I'll post it again for you if you are sincere and are not trolling:

If you are trying to apply Occam's Razor which I'm assuming you are attempting, you also have to factor in the concept of opportunity cost to your assumptions.

The opportunity cost here is a FBI manhunt which will eventually lead to decades in prison.

For your second scenario to be more plausible, you would have to assume that someone's desire for a political party to win the midterms overcomes their desire to not be the center of an FBI man hunt and potential decades in prison.

That is why if you apply Occam's Razor along with factoring in opportunity cost, the first scenerio is more plausible because hatred is a much more strong motivating factor to risk a FBI manhunt.

The latter is proven to be true time and time again with every genuine terrorist incident. No terrorist has garnered sympathy for their cause in the US with their terrorist actions. And all their actions stem from hatred.

Thus hatred is more likely to trump self preservation than politiking.

This is over the top nonsense.

Trump dislikes CNN and most of the MSM because their most prominent on-air personalities (Cooper, Lemon, Cuomo) are openly and obviously Democrats and are totally in the bag for the left. They have relentlessly attacked Trump from the beginning and have spun and will continue to spin every thing he does or every event associated with him in the most negative way possible.

It has absolutely nothing to do with totalitarianism.

Trump merely pushes back on and attacks the press that has always relentlessly attacked him.

    Talk about ridiculous fear mongering.

    Get a grip.

    *This from a non-Trump voter

Fox News has openly attacked Obama from a GOP standpoint from inticing the birther nonsense to suggesting he is a Muslim terrorist sympathizer.

Not once has he called Fox News "the enemy of the people".

You sound like a Trump supporter. You act as if constant criticism of the POTUS is novel. Trump is unique in the sense of his unhinged blatant lies on a constant basis. Accurate news portrayal will have harsh criticism of the highest office in the land barraging the American public with lies.

If you don't think Trump spams lies to the American public in an unprecidented manner for such a high office in the US, you are a Trump supporter .

This non-sense isn't even response worthy. I mean, this just doesn't even address anything I said.

This and this. Whether the bombs were all that explosive or not, the person who sent them is facing many, many years in prison now. If someone did this for cheap political points before the midterms, he's either a Russian operative or a total moron. Who the hell risks spending years in federal prison so they can incrementally move congressional elections in some unpredictable direction? If it's a liberal, he's a moron. If it's a conservative, he's a moron. If he's a Russian operative... well he might be smart, but can you imagine the impact he could have had if he sent pipe bombs that actually exploded?

I've seen these posts before. They usually end with, "this is from a non-trump voter" or a similar disingenuous declaration. I am not at all impressed. Wake up and smell the coffee, dude.

Yea, I'll wake right up and smell the *Trump is trying to muzzle the press on his route to becoming dictator* coffee. That's a reasonable explanation for what is going on. That seems way more reasonable than Trump merely attacking the press that is in the bag for his opponents and relentlessly attacks him.

But see, we no longer trust the FBI, right? Only on the days where Dear Leader says they did something right. Like when they re-opened an investigation into Hillary's emails. That was a good FBI day. Many of their days are bad, fake days, however. Just listen to Dear Leader and follow along.

We are so very ****ed if sane people don't take back the House. And probably some measure of ****ed even then.

That dog just doesn't hunt, no matter how many times Limbaugh says it. 95% of what the press reports is what Dear Leader actually says, does, and tweets. Yeah, it's often stupid and offensive, so in the other 5%, they have commentary documenting that. Very little of it is "fake," (beyond the fact that what Dear Leader is saying and tweeting is actually fake about half the time).

This fantasy that everything but Fox News (which has also been critical of Dear Leader's lies, btw) is "in the bag" for democrats, including the WSJ, CS Monitor, the AP, and everything else but Infowars, Drudge, and Fox is just plain hogwash and we have to continue to point that out. Limbaugh, Hannity and that gang can keep spinning their own reality and brainwashing people, but rationality can hopefully still play a role for everyone else.

Editorials leaning left? Okay, yes, it's true in many cases. Actual reported news stories by reporters? Overwhelmingly fact-based and quote-based. Know the difference, respect the difference, embrace reality.
