(captain hindsight) so glad they didn't do this. Still can't believe this team is in first right now after their first 3 showings. Such an easy schedule this season.
He wasn't sacked much but he still took 5 QB hits not including the times he ran....though fortunately he slid most of the time. As to the Jags, they are in a 4 way tie for 20th in the league in sacks.....so they aren't anywhere near as good as you were suggesting. In fact, it looks like their real strength is in the secondary as they are the best pass defense but 25th run defense in the league.
Definitely an improvement though. Also our run game play calling was much better. We even ran a toss to Miller! Unbelievable... And sure Jacksonville's stats aren't impressive, but the talent is there.
That's very true, but even then, without the defense setting the offense up with turnovers damn near in the red zone already, I'm not sure the Texans score a TD all game long. Basically I'm in "wait to see more" mode. On one hand the Jags have been a top defense, on the other they are a team in disarray with players and coaches openly fighting with each other on the sidelines. When it comes to Miami, the only thing keeping their defense from being flat out garbage is the interceptions their secondary are getting. Right now they lead the league in interceptions which means a real challenge for Watson.....at the same time though Miami has basically no run defense....which if exploited correctly could help out. There is 0 excuse for not moving the ball against Miami, if we do that I'll feel a lot better moving forward.
Without a doubt, either franchise tag or long term deal. There's no scenario where Clowney is allowed to walk.
