By and large the Texans are pretty bad at execution on plays. They nearly always make mistakes. To run those plays you need everyone on the same page, knowing exactly what their job is on every play. They typically do not. If you watch a lot of their plays, especially short/med depth plays, you see WR bunching up on the field. They're always running into the same open zones and by doing so closing off any and all lanes for the play to actually work. They are a very poorly coached team. Well, Poorly coached offensive team. They make mistakes so regularly they they can't typically get into a rhythm, which also tends to help out those types of plays. On top of that, not a single defense in this league is concerned with their run game, so they can tee-off with pass rushers and force plays at a very high rate. At this moment, they don't have the personnel or coaching to be as successful as the rest of the league.

I lend their success last year to the NFL not getting enough film on Watson early on. They got last years film and were able to work up a game plan they figured could work against those plays. Also, play calling has been a bit different this year. They have had to keep more guys on the line to protect the pocket, leaving less receivers down field for either catches or potential blocks for YAC. It's just a mess as a whole.

We have shitty OL so let's call pass plays that take a long time to develop. That's BOB's genius folks.

That's almost exactly what I was going to say. There's no excuse in the Texans being near the top of the list when the O line is struggling. Combine this stat with the fact that DeShaun Watson is STILL 2nd in the NFL in time to throw at 3.1 seconds on average and you see the reason why he's getting hit so much.....and it's completely unnecessary.

Well, this week I actually saw some progress in areas we have struggled, which is promising. I've never given up hope on us, but I actually feel more optimistic now about positive changes. Far fewer penalties was a big plus. Miller looked better than I have seen him all year. He had a few nice runs, which kept us moving down the field. A passing and running TD in the red zone without any turnovers was also nice to see. Watson playing all injured doesn't make sense to me, but it is what it is. He didn't have many passing yards, but he made some plays when it counted, so that is good. I still think he hesitates too long at times, and that is the area I would like to see him get better in.

As for the best, I would say the one handed catch by Hopkins was the awesome. The ball was thrown a little too far for most guys to have made that catch, but he is so good at snagging a ball by one hand that he was able to make that first down. Fuller is still doing well not dropping catches like he did last year. I just wish BOB would write up some plays to take more advantage of his speed and let Watson throw a couple long bombs, but playing it safer worked. Clowney was a Beast, and our defense continues to impress. They are all doing their part, in tackles, sacks, forcing turnovers, and doing the things we need them to that keep us winning. I can't wait to see how we do this week against Miami led by Brock. He's actually done really well in his 3 games, but let's see if our defense can rattle his cage, and force him to make some bad decisions, and throw an interception or two. We will need another clean game, without any turnovers, and that is what I am hoping for. Winning 5 straight after starting 0-3 would be awesome.

I thought even before preseason that ye
I thought these were interesting too.
I also liked these from were you posted.

For those that hate uggs(shotgun, shotgun shotgun shotgun) I found this cool site:
    https://www.sharpfootballstats.com/snap-rates--shotgun-v-under-center--off-.html
Texans run 69% of their snaps from the uggs and 31% of their snaps from under center. This is the only time I don't like that number, 69!
Even the original uggs have distanced themselves from going full uggs over the past couple of seasons. Patriots have 52% of their snaps under center, 48%under uggs. I want that or at least 45% under center 55% uggs but never uggs at their 5 yard line, CBs and LBs can get their shoves and jams and it's all fair game or uggs at our own 5 yard line.

The oilers and bills would have won a superbowl each in this era

Anyone catch O'Brien at the post game press conference on Sunday? He mentioned how Hal stayed in great shape even when dealing with his cancer. Then he said... "a lot of guys don't do that. You can guess who I mean by that."

I wonder if he was taking a shot at Foreman?

How did they lose to Blaine Gabbert & the WildTitans?
How did they lose to the Giants?
How did they blow a 28-10 lead to the Colts?
    Needed OT to beat Dallas
Needed Josh Allen injury to beat Buffalo
They did beat Jacksonville so good on them!

Hope we're not asking "How did they lose to Brock Osweiler?"
