Or Watt continues to draw more attention and double teams which helps Clowney. This is what we envisioned when we drafted Clowney.

Clowney is not as driven, focused, and consistent but he has been better than Watt for a few years now.

I think - hope - that a significant number of BOB's failings/limitations are rooted in Watson's health; I don't think he's been fully 100% all season. Once he's healthy, hopefully BOB'll release the hounds. It's possible this could be a drastically different/better team come the postseason.

It would be a break for the Texans if he can't go.

This is the first win this season where I'm not pissed off afterwards.

It didnt look like the Texan fan was in the complete innocent either. It seemed like he was jawing at the guy with the cap a row below. Of course, thats no excuse for the sucker punch but I highly doubt he was just viewing the game and had a whole section hate him. Well, it is Florida we are talking about here, so who knows....

O’Brien says Brock Osweiler is playing really well right now. Has a great history with Adam Gase. #Texans

BOB: Asked him if bus ride was OK with him, he said yes, of course. He’s a winner. He wants to win. #Texans

    — Dale Robertson (@sportywineguy) October 22, 2018

BOB: Not getting into details of Watson’s injury. I’m not a doctor. Best thing was for him to go on a bus to Jax with trainer, security. #Texans

Bill O’Brien: Deshaun Watson’s bus got back to Houston this morning and will participate in #Texans practice.

When it comes to being a run stopper, there's no question. Clowney has been better than Watt for a while now. When it comes to overall I think they are about even. Some games Watt will shine brighter, some games Clowney will shine brighter.

    EDGE JADEVEON CLOWNEY, HOUSTON TEXANS
Key Stat: Clowney’s 33.3 run-stop percentage led all qualifying edge defenders in Week 7.
Jadeveon Clowney was PFF’s highest-graded run-defender in the NFL going into Jacksonville. Clowney lived up to the billing with a one-man assault on the Jaguars’ backfield, racking up an impressive six total pressures, two sacks and seven defensive stops. He generated a pressure percentage of 11.1 and recorded five run stops, which was good for a 33.3 run-stop percentage. That last mark was good for first edge defenders. Clowney demonstrated his dominance against the run along with the ability to flat-out ruin the quarterback’s day.

    EDGE CALAIS CAMPBELL, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Key Stat: Campbell ranked third behind Clowney and Cowboys’ Demarcus Lawrence in run-stop percentage (26.9) in Week 7).
Amidst a losing streak and a defeat to the Texans, Calais Campbell’s performance will probably get lost in the shuffle. The veteran defensive end produced a jaw-dropping eight defensive stops, the most among edge defenders, to go along with four pressures. His seven run stops and 26.9 run-stop percentage ranked tied for first and third, respectively, among edge defenders in Week 7. Campbell has been up-and-down this season as he’s dealt with nagging injuries but could finally be getting healthier and back to his dominant ways.

Miami's success has been on short passing.

Crossing routes gallore against the Lions and Bears.

Awful tackling led to some big plays against both defenses.

Houston has the better defense and QB. Should be a win at home on a short week.

At the same time, we seem to be giving cushions and the short passing could hurt our "bend don't break" play style... What does the Dolphin defense look like?

The BOB factor completely negates the QB advantage. The team barely moved the ball and if it wasn't for the defense setting them up with amazing field position all game long, would the Texans have scored more than FG's? I'm really not sure they would have. Also, if you look at one of the TD's, Watson did all he could to throw a pick in the end zone the play before the TD, it's just that the Jags defender dropped it....in fact Watson has only 1 more TD and one fewer interception than Blake Bortles who was benched. We both know what Watson can be, but right now he's not that QB for a host of reasons.

Right now the Texans have a really pathetic offense and that's going to make just about any game difficult to win. If the defense isn't all world, the Texans have no chance in any game.

They are right at league average. They give up 5 more points per game than the Texans do but they give up over 400 yards per game which is pretty awful.

The reason for this is that they lead the NFL in interceptions which could be bad news for Watson.

Not a lot of sacks (been missing Cam Wake but he is officially back now) but a lot of interceptions. X Howard is legit. Middle of the pack in rushing defense.

The Texans have a red zone issue. Not a moving the ball issue.

He has 4 games in a row this year where he threw for over 375 yards. At that point, he had increased his YPA and completion percentage from last year, and was in the tops in the league in Intermediate throwing(elite QB territory).

He has not played as well with a broken rib, collasped lung against 3 of the best defenses in the NFL. You are showing major signs of recency bias and ignoring that not many QB's would even be able to play with those injuries. The Texans will find there offensive prowess at some point this year.
