not sure how much of it has to do w/ tillman wanting to limit lux tax, but morey clearly failed this offseason
Willy..... really?!?!?!?!? This is only the 3rd game, last year's champion started 1-2. Need CyberX to defend Morey.
Cp3 out. 2nd game, less than 24 hours. EGO to start, makes bench weaker. Morey still has a move up his sleeve. Jeezus.
The reason Morey isn't overrated is because if this experiment continues to struggle, we know that he's not afraid to shake it up again. You win some, you lose some, but as a fan you have to appreciate a GM that takes reasonable risks. He has shown that he can turn over an entire roster very quickly. I say let Paul get back and let's see if the team has made any progress after 10 straight games together. If not, I'll start scoffing a little less at these panic threads.
League makes adjustments, we need to find other ways to play to surprise our opponents. Agreed too that the roster is a mess. But even if we had retained everyone, we always need an edge.
Morey is not overrated. But I wasn't optimistic after the offseason, unlike some people here who thought we were better. We are not. Last season we would have beaten the Clippers without Paul. Not with this squad. It's not Morey's fault that Ariza is gone. That 15M/yr contract is just too big to swallow. But Ariza's absence is the biggest hole we have now. No one is filling that hole. I was hoping Ennis could. But it doesn't look like it will happen soon.
