Too much money from big oil to ever leave Saudis. That's what people need to address, not think outrage over a murder or murders will ever change the us policy. Need to drop fossil fuels and coal overnight, shift to nuclear and renewables and transfer all those jobs. Only way to put Saudi in its place and ensure future prosperity.

But that's not the point. It is about perception. For the people of Yemen and the middle east they will see Saudis as aggressors that are backed by the US. This is no a good thing at all in this region. Trump is an idiot if he sticks with the prince. Only proves what I said before Trump only cares about himself he does care about the people of the United States. Trump uses people to get what he wants. Why can't people see this?????????

    ...

You are incredibly naive - That IS the point. Politics is about money and power first, ideals, morals and human rights 3rd, 4th and 5th. In order to win, you have to play the money and power game, not the human rights editorial game. Republicans and Democrats alike have been in bed with despotic regimes for centuries because of this reason alone.

Gee, if only bob corker and lyndsey graham knew of a group of elected officials that could agree to pressure the president and his saudi financial sponsors to investigate and come clean with what happened?

What an interesting response from people who don’t like liberals, how they are being told to interpret this incident.

It’s either he was a complete Muslim brotherhood terrorist set on destroying the US (he’s a journo!)

    Or

Benghazi! Daniel Pearl! Mollie Tibbetts, where’s the outrage Hippocrates?!

Democratic groups that gather and yell about real issues like sexual assault on women are mobs that can not be tolerated. But Saudi groups that gather, hack a man to death and lie about it over and over are to be tolerated and that behavior is to be accepted. Got it!

Once again, Donald Trump throws American intel agencies under the bus, doesn't accept their work and evidence but instead sides with a foreign Authoritarian ruler. People who support Donald and supposedly support AMERICA are okay with that as well. Got it!

What's funny is that there was actual outrage from Democrats over those incidents.

Trump only wishes his people feared him like Duterte, Kim, Putin, and MBS. He has openly said so. “There are a lot of killers. You think our country's so innocent?"

Trump only wishes he could pull off the secret or outright publicized assault of a reporter. He had openly said so as recently as this week.

He is fascinated by governments and leaders that kill their citizens and has repeatedly and openly sided with them.

Yeah, if a non-mystery guy gets murdered by a foreign government then that might be worth raising a big stink. But when it's a "mystery guy", all bets are off the table. Never worry about holding on to your principles when it's just a "mystery guy"

That is the point it is a failed strategy in the middle east. This will push the region into the hand of religious extremist even further.

As with all stories...nothing will change. The status quo remains. Doesn't matter who is killed.
You think the US politicians are going to grow a conscience because a journalist was murdered? Give me a break.

So is the story here that the Saudi's killed a Saudi dissenter in Turkey? How is that not completely expected behavior by the magic kingdom of Saud?

DC/media bubble has zero self awareness that no one gives a crap about this story.

Gotta be annoying for the Dems that this is sucking away all the media's attention before the midterms (along with a migrant caravan, also not good for Dems).

And the media making a hapless attempt to blame Trump for this somehow, or they expect us to wreck our alliance with the Saudis over this (media echo chamber wants Iran to be the dominant power in the region).
