Strange request. I think it’s all pretty much there. It was a winnable game that we didn’t win. Poor umpiring, poor decisions with personnel, bostons execution on both sides, our lack of execution - especially with runners on. I thought it was fairly obvious that McCullers was the wrong choice in that situation, and I think most of us were able to recognize that James was gassed and losing effectiveness quickly. Gurriel gets a single and we could’ve REALLY used that from him somewhere in the multitude of chances he had with runners on in this game or the others. Tough luck. Frustrating.
Freakin Bradley -- a .717 OPS player this season -- and PBs are costing us this series. Still a chance though with JV and Cole incoming.
Agreed. Our defensive specialist catcher has been offensive. And all of our walks and hit batters has been mind boggling to me. I know against a 108 win team what I’m about to say qualifies as insanity. If we get it back to Boston I fully expect to win both games there. We have been road warriors and do not fear playing anywhere other than at home this season.
JV gets rocked. Price looks like a God. Sox celebrate on the Astros field. Astros become laughing stock of MLB.
Heck to me it’s not even that. Sure they are hitting but we are giving them so many extra runs with all of our weird walks hbp passed balls and wild pitches. Eventually that has to stop, right?
Game of inches last night. Baseball happened to the Astros. It will turn.....we are about to get the calls, the hits will go our way. This series will find it way to a game 7.
It was a deflating call in the first. Watching from my spot in stadium I thought we at least had the double. Seeing the first replay I immediately said that's a home run. It's beyond ridiculous that we don't have several cameras on that foul poll after we already had this similar situation last year in the playoff(that went our way) and the almost walk off by Springer vs the Ray's. There is no way the he could clearly see fan interference from where he was. Should have been ruled a double and then went to replay to check if it was a Homer. Which it was. That being said our pitching and Hinch's decisions on using them has been bad. I also don't want to see Maldonado behind the plate again 1 caught stealing isn't worth the 3 runs he's given up on passed balls.
Betts didn't have the Alou reaction when Bartman did his thing. Guy that should be banned for MLB gamr is Joe West.
I still have the image of McCuller throwing pitch after pitch in the ground. In this series, the Astros usually dominating pitching largely collapsed. The hitting has been in fits and spurts but most nights enough to win. The pitching has been really shakey even in the first game. Do or die; it's simple.
