    I think he would have caught it but it was fair game. The fan wasn't even intentionally interfering as well. Pretty stupid overall.

    Replay has made umps just automatically give fielders the benefit of the doubt, and it's dumb and not in the spirit of the game. Tie now goes to the fielder. Home runs are interferences before they're home runs.

    This is correct. The call was not "confirmed" (which means it was a correct call), it was just "upheld" (not enough evidence to change the call on the field).
