It is weird how people respond to each other on a message board. Let me go get my poke the bear post in about how they are dumb for continuing to respond to each other haha.
That's a pretty dumb reason to not trade Butler to Houston. "If we can't form a superteam with Butler, KAT, and Wiggins then we don't want anyone else to try and form a super-SUPER team with Butler either!"
I mean I get it. If the offers are all pretty mediocre it makes sense they'd rather not form another team that they can't beat.
They got good draft pick though. Nobody seems to be offering anything like what the Cavs got. Clearly you take the best deal for your franchise, my point was if the offers are all just kind of blah.
The Lakers DID make an offer for JB, but it was not recently at all. This was before Deng was stretched and waived. The offer was Deng, Hart, Zubac & a pick. Wolves clearly didn't want the money that was attached to Dengs deal. The Lakers have not spoken to the Wolves lately and have no interest in trading for him at the moment.
I'd say in the end they will take what they think is the best offer regardless of the team offering it, but i mean, you never know, they've already shown to be pretty dumb as an organization so...they may not realize that once they trade/lose Butler they'll kinda suck and be worse than the Rockets for years regardless.
Thanks Cyber, can you corroborate Steins report that the Rockets might still be trying to wrestle Butler away from the Wolves?
that's probably the ugliest package the twolves got offered to date (unless the pick was their own 2019 which could end up lottery )
They probably thought "Man, you know Thibs would love getting Deng...just offer him as the main piece of a package and we may have a chance to steal Butler"
Because, friend, you don't ask the questions relevant at hand. You're not addressing what I pointed out directly. But unlike you, I'll answer directly. I believe if the Lakers were going to discuss an offer for Jimmy Butler, they would wait until the date (or perhaps a week before) where matching salaries using their actual vets is possible because I think its reasonable to say two GMs are qualified enough to know an offer today for the future would be moot with the fact that so much could happen. Especially in this specific scenario!
