Yea, wow Jimmy is this great amazing guy with no flaws and KAT and Wiggins are these worthless losers LOL, sheesh man. Well besides that, I really would like to have him on this team if somehow Morey got this to work without trading Tucker, I would be pretty confident we could take the Warriors.
Jimmy's team: Irreconcilable differences Thibs: Please, Jimmy, please... Minny: We need to be respected Same lens on all fronts. But, due to Jimmy's antics, I sense/hear Minny is looking to deal a bit more quickly to save face. Jimmy embarrassed himself, but this is a players' league. Minny looks worse holding on, rather than moving on. Miami still in play LAC still in play (Despite backing off) Houston (biting at ankles for now....) *Just as a personal opinion, I don't see the Rockets taking on Jimmy, but Morey always does the unexpected. Either way, Minny will lose in any deal, but they lose more by having Jimmy around. Sorry--again---not a whole lot of change. Have not heard of anything "imminent." Admittedly (x1000), I don't have many ears in the TwinCits
Of course we are not getting Butler... haven't you heard? Our real targets have been Winslow and Oubre all along.
This makes me sad, since I heard Miami was backing off I thought we had a better chance to steal him for pennies
Thats what im sayin.. Ppl are focused on/bashing KAT. Can we NOT send the type of energy I responded to his way in the process? Lets not pretend this isnt what it is. JB's going to do what he has to do/advised to do, and say what he has to say. Period.
Not shocked that Riley still wants to deal, he needs to make his team somehow relevant...let's say...
I dont know what else you've written. I didnt see him acting like a 15 year old boy. He didnt throw a tantrum and start yelling telling ppl to get the **** out his face. He handled that very well. Especially when they turned the light on at the end. JB is the one going to the media and bashing teammates publicly. What I saw was KAT doing his best to rise above the bullshit. But im not about to go back n forth with you like these other folks you speak of.
I had to listen to that Jimmy B and Friends album that keeps popping up in the ads. Now you don't have to. It's not very good jazz.
I'm not looking for support of my position. I choose to freely give this board my insights. If you look at my history of posts about players, especially young players, you will find that I have been right and "discovered" a lot of guys that even the national media types were overlooking. I know basketball. I have good eyes. I played the game. And since I got too old to really play I have watched a ton of basketball.....a ton. Like over 400 NBA games a season for the last 40 years....plus replays and scouting individual players. What you have to remember always is that the bottom 100 players in the NBA can easily be replaced by somewhere around 300 other players world wide and there won't be a hill-o-bean's difference in them. And I'm a big advocate of having those minimum salary guys on the roster NOT taking up cap space over playing veteran bottom 100 guys in the league larger chunks of cap space to do the same thing. If I were a GM I would be turning over the bottom half of my roster frequently until I got decent players to agree to longer 3-4 year minimum salary deals similar to what we got Qi on, in order to let them get some experience and become effective players. Then either extend them at a reasonable rate if they progress beyond bottom 100 and it makes sense for my rotation or trade them out again for other picks/assets before paying them larger salaries for a job that I could get another guy to do for a minimum or lower salary. I have scouted a lot of players. I know what I see. I'm confident in what I see. And I'd stack my player evaluation skills up against the guys that get paid to do the job. And I don't need or care who else agrees with it. My track record is there. Check out my player valuation in the draft folder. It's all there. I have stated, and I will reiterate here and now, Qi has defensive player of the year potential. That doesn't mean he'll ever be defensive player of the year. But he has the potential to. Why? Because for starters....he has INSANE LENGTH combined with enough speed and quickness to defend anybody on the court. No, he's not ultra quick or fast. But he's quick and fast enough. No, he can't stay in front of smalls. But....this is the key....he doesn't have to. His INSANE LENGTH makes him a defensive threat to them even when they blow by him. Don't believe me? Watch him trail them to the basket. They feel him. And it changes their shot. And decreases their finishing percentages in the paint. THEY HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT HOW TO BEAT HIM PROFICIENTLY YET! And that's a good indicator of his defensive future. Yeah...he's a toothpick. Bigs gonna cream him underneath. Are they now??????????? Ok. Show me. I'm from MIZZOURI. He's quicker than almost every big. And he's faster up and down at the center position than all but a handful. And he's still got that INSANE LENGTH. This is a quick, fast league now. The tractor-trailer guys like Shaq can't make it in this league today. Can't keep up...with guys like Qi. When Qi gets healthy and is healthy...he's got stamina....that Capela can only dream of. And he's got the beginnings of a great 3-stroke. I'm not coming off him until and unless I see him fail in his work ethic, attitude, or he gets injured and banged up and it becomes obvious to me that he's not going to make it. I'm not saying he's going to be a star. He could possibly be I suppose. But I see a guy that could be a dirt-cheap primary role player for us for 3 more seasons. I can see him merging into the primary rotation if healthy in the last half of this season. That would give him two more seasons at a low minimum salary to eat up a lot of effective minutes...if he becomes what I think he can become...a difference-making defender who can space the floor with his shot and also finish and who also has some semblance of a handle. I'm still very high on Qi. And it would not surprise me if he surpasses Capela sometime in the next couple years. Maybe as soon as the end of this season. That's as plain spoken as I can be on the matter. I'm not afraid to be wrong about Qi. Been wrong about other guys before. So, no biggie. In my mind, Qi is worth something. He could become a key piece of our rotation on a miniscule salary. I like the investment. I think it could pay a high return.
If Kat organised like almost every other playoff team, summer practices with teammates, if KAT actually showed some improvement in his defence and effort and if KAT wasn't playing online until 5am in the morning videogames during the regular season then I would agree with you.
