Regarding Jordan, you're probably talking about Kwame Brown, who was a #1 pick. If so, he continued to play in the NBA for a decade after that, but he's considered one of the biggest busts ever. Jordan verbally terrorized Rodney McCray, Muggsy Bogues, and others to the point where it's considered he probably ended their careers. lol. I did like the fact that apparently he and Wiggins dapped after the game, though.
Crazy how everything @Codman said about the situation has checked out. If you question his credibility at this point you're a major clown.
Of course you can change your views on the game. that isn't set in stone. that's part of growth/improving as a player and adjusting to what role you as a player is most effective to winning basketball. Guys come into the league being a focal point on their respective situations beforehand and every single one of them needs to adjust from that mindset. Some guys obviously do it better than others. some guys do it slower. some guys dont care to. and some guys can't at all and are out of the league soon enough. I find it hard to believe anyone who knows nothing about KAT and what he does on a daily basis really is able to judge what his drive to win is. If you're going to use this logic then cp3 must be this "soy boy beta" you're judging him as then.
What do you want going forward? Happiness. I want to win. There's one thing you'll never ever ever be able to say about me is I play this game for any other reason other than to win. I hate losing. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. If I don't win a championship, what's the point of making the playoffs? That's the way I think. Miami is the right place to be then Spoiler
Woj: Talking to execs around the league, most felt if Tom Thibodeau is making the decision, Tom will resist in the short term. He got Jimmy back in the gym. Jimmy says he's coming back tomorrow to practice. That's what Tom has wanted throughout this. If ownership doesn't want this spectacle, do they make a deal? That's been the question the whole time here. In talking to teams, teams with an appetite, nothing today changed. They know who he is & why they want him. It's how much do we want to pay & give up for a player who is not a transformational player? He's an all-star but he alone doesn't change a franchise and there are limits to what teams are willing to do and in most/all cases, Minnesota's asking price is too high for them.
Tilman does not want to win the championship!! In other words, $60 million profits is more important than the chance of Championship. Dan Gilbert lost $163 million dollars for the past 4 years.
You have to admit they do have the culture of professionalism that he cares about there though. Those dudes take no games off.
I agree that I am in no condition to judge KAT's desire to win, but if Jimmy Butler is pulling this antics just to show/prove how fking beta KAT is..... I don't feel that bad for making this assumption. Regardless of what i think KAT's reputation took a huge hit and the only way for him to prove us wrong is on the court.
They do, no question, but they have also a mediocre roster that is not going to win **** with or without Butler.
Jimmy is a mastermind man. I would love to have his mind here in Houston, getting underneath the skin of donkey.
JB is doing what he wants to do to get out of Minny. he made a request weeks ago and it still hasn't happened. he obviously is gonna do whatever to get out of there. From KAT"s end, he probably couldn't careless. he just got max money and minny is about to be without butler. so it goes both ways. KAT still has work to do and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. JB doesn't exactly have some long list of accomplishments to be the best judge at the end of the day
This thread moving at blistering speed now, should be at 300 pages by the time Jimmy Buckets is traded for Thicc + EG...
He made a long post regarding the Jimmy situation a few days ago. A few points he made included Jimmy's priority for winning over money, Jimmy basically being forced to play through an injury by Thibs (who's supposed to be his guy but in the end did whats best for the org) and how Jimmy wants to be appreciated/respected for his talent and if you read the interview JR posted all of these things were mentioned/alluded to by JB himself.
Can't wait for story time with Cod! @Deuce Maaaannn, just think about all the juicy stories Cod has from NBA locker rooms.
Jimmy is either very intelligent or he got a very smart adviser. Generally this sht will get u branded as a toxic diva player, but he's coming out of this drama looking like a bad ass alpha dog. Beating soft KAT and Wiggins with third stringers, jeez Christ. One could argue that KAT and Wiggins doesn't really care this happens, since it's just Butler acting out this just shows how soft they acting. Alpha dogs not gonna let anyone disrespect them like that regardless of the situation.
Yeah, the story I was referencing was Rodney McCray and the "loser" talk. He didn't quit basketball he was just a shell of his former self.
