I understand ALL POINTS OF VIEW regarding what we should or shouldn't give up to get Butler in this trade.

But honestly, considering our cap situation and CP3's age, even if you END UP HAVING to give up EGo, PJ and a 1st, you have to do it in order to get Butler. Why? Because having MVP, CP3, Butler and Capela potentially locked up as your core of stars for the next 5 years is worth it. I am pretty confident that Butler will resign here if we offer him the 5 year max or close to it, because it will still be better than any 4 year deal that anyone else can give him if he is on our team with bird rights.

I don't want to give up both Ego and PJ, let alone adding a 1st to that. But if I had to do it verses letting him go to another team, I probably would since we have no shot at him in free agency. The only thing I wouldn't do considering our cap situation, is under no circumstances would I take on Dieng if I give up all of that.

Unless Morey has a good idea that another superstar (PG13<doubt it since he just resigned), or AD<who knows>) wants to come here for sure and that he could potentially trade for them, you have to add another superstar to our team so that we can take down the Warriors.

AGAIN, I would really HATE to lose PJ, and would do everything in my power to keep him out the deal. Maybe this is what Morey is doing, but in the end, last second before he goes to another team, Morey includes him to close the deal. Or maybe this is what Thibs is hoping for.

JUST GET THIS SH*T OVER WITH THOUGH SO THE PLAYERS CAN KNOW WHERE THEY WILL BE AND GET FOCUSED!!

I personally do not think that PJ is off the table completely. I do know that picks being traded out are much more preferred method. I think DM is playing the tough guy - all part of the job.

How the hell did Kawhi baby his way out of last season ? Did the spurs let him get away with it ? I know he had a real injury , but his "rehab" took 2 times longer than one would reasonably expect.

Minnesota: Gotta add PJ for Jimmy B. Take it or leave it.
    Hou: No
Minnesota: Miami, we want more from you. Take it or leave it
    Miami: No
Minnesota: Okay, let's try again later.

If Morey didn't have CP3 already, I think he would be more aggressive. Now? his not willing to take on too much risk.

CP3 is old and gets hurt a lot. Now is the time to go all in. You might only have a 2 year window.
