    They shouldn't have started there

The information comes from tax returns. How is that fraud?

If you read the article you will see where there are certainly some legal tax schemes Fred Trump used, there was also a number of fraudulent things he did.

My bad the article implicates the IRS saying it put up little resistance even though its auditing him as we speak.

Fred Trump wasn't especially brilliant here, his frauds don't require an advanced degree in fraudsterism to understand. Mark down one side of the ledger, mark up the other, funnel the difference to your kids - repeat.

He merely gambled, correctly, that he could commit fraud repeatedly and brazenly and either have nobody notice it, or be able to escape with minimal remedial measures, and he was largely lucky enough to be correct.

It could have broken the other way though, he could have lost it all and spent the rest of his life in jail for racketeering (this is the definition of a RICO case, btw).

A lot (or even most) of life is just dumb-ass luck.

I understand why people think im a Trump supporter.

One of my issues on him not releasing his returns is that its just a tradition from career politicians whom we already where their money comes.

We knpw how much an Illinois senator or texas governor makes. Its public information. I understand the argument that we deserve to know who the future president may be tied to financially

My other issue is in the long trump being a non politician makes his win historic. At some point history will appreciate it regardless of his politics

When the tax returns are intentionally knowingly filled with false information in an effort to lower the taxes paid, that is fraud.

You missed the point. Im sure the irs combs through a billionaire's tax returns and is more of an expert than the Times

He claims he is under audit. He's a liar and it has not been confirmed that he even is under audit. The IRS is under-staffed, under-funded, and overworked. They don't have the time to go over every return with a fine-tooth comb. That is true even when people are under audit.

That being said, I have heard people say they were surprised at how crude and simplistic the cheating and fraud conducted by the Trump's were to be able to get away with it.

The one thing that everyone who is any kind of tax professional agrees upon is that they committed fraud.

Don't care what you heard. IRS are the experts. They had no problem with the returns

It was from an expert who works for the IRS. So yes he was an expert.

If you think people don't ever file fraudulent returns, then there is nothing more to discuss. Ask anyone at the IRS about the returns and they will tell you they are fraudulent.

The documentation and hasn't been discredited in any way shape or form. If you can discredit them, then please present the evidence. Maybe Trump's empty threat of a lawsuit would go forward and you would get a job with them.

Since I doubt you will be able to do that just like the experts who work for Trump haven't been able to do that, his supposed lawsuit will amount to more hot air like you we are used to hearing from the criminal fraud.

And Trump and the GOP didn’t simplify it, they increased the complexity of it....

... why do you think they did that?

Do you thunk the IRS doesn't pay attention to Trump's returns? Do you think they didn't pay attention to his daddy's?

You think the Times has more information than the irs? This was a one night story nationally.

It was discredited when the irs blessed the returns

No matter what the tax experts such as yourself claim
