I was thinking Knight for Dieng and then Tucker and Gordon for Butler. Still not a bad deal at all for Minny imo considering they have no leverage.
Miami would've still to include another player to make the trade possible so, one between Olynyk, JJ or Waiters, these players are obviously not the same in terms of value so, there has to be more on that, it just can't be Richardson and pick). We can still do two different trades with Minnie, one for Butler where we include Gordon and Nene/Tucker, and another one with Knight for Dieng straight up, but i just don't see the Rockets take back Dieng which might be harder than Ryan to dump since he has a 3 year deal at 15/16M per season... Knight if able to stay on the floor with this team may be able to gain some sort of value going forward, you never know, you may be able to trade him to a team without a PG like Orlando for Simmons and Augustin at some point.
@robbie380 @Vivi if we trade ego, then we actually need knight in the backcourt. plus we already have like 7 big men so what the hell do we do with dieng the next 3 years
Agree, would probably need to include a third team to make sense for us. Unless, Dieng becomes our new B/U center.
Yeah, aside for Knight (which is a good point, but i guess if we land Butler we would be able to keep two stars on the court at the same time so, we may not need a sixth man kind of player at that point...and tbh, we don't even know how well he'll be able to play, it's possible that he'll suck), i don't see how we can eat Dieng's contract going forward, that brick would be there for 3 years, and it's basically dead salary...but eh, maybe with the cap rising for at least two years, we might be able to move him with a single 1st rounder in a year...
The only thing I can see that would break up that trade is them trying to unload Waiters cause if its JJ or Olynyk than its completely Bonkers to turn down.
Definitely, Waiters is basically Dieng in terms of value, just a couple of million less per year but, yeah...if Miami wants to unload him that basically takes away all the value of the 1st rounder they would trade, if not more.
Yeah it would be a limiting trade for us for sure. The more I think about it the less I think Morey would ever offer it since he generally prefers flexibility above all else. Dieng is an anchor of a contract that would basically prevent us from signing Butler. I’m also counting on close to nothing from Knight this year. I’ll hope for the best but it’s not off to a great start for him. I was thinking the roster would be CP3/MCW Harden/Green Butler/Ennis Melo/Dieng/Chriss Capela/Dieng/Nene/Hartenstein But it’s kind of a one year shot since we are stuck with Dieng. Maybe Morey can work some magic and sign Butler but the luxury tax just becomes a nightmare very quickly. It’s too bad we couldn’t get CP3 to sign for something less than the max. Damn it I was trying to do some work and now I’m completely distracted lol.
Mia doesn’t really want to trade Richardson, so they’re probably attaching something sh*tty to him...probably Waiters lol who knows what the protection on that pick is
Now that @cyberx has said we’re holding back on picks, watch some “insider” on twitter run with that. Short priced favorite for mine is Scoop B.
**** dealing with MIN . You can't deal with a team that's negotiating in bad faith. Go with what we got. Gordon + tucker > butler for our team . If we can do it just giving up 1 , that's OK , but the longer this drags out the less attractive it is for chemistry reasons .
I don't get it. How are our OWN first round picks desirable? It will be the tail end of the first round, less attractive than early second round because of the contract restrictions for first rounders.
