the only solution for t-puppies is that the owner lay down the hammer, fire thibs and take a deal from Rockets or heat otherwise ain't no future star would wanna come to his town..it's just a bad look for that organization right now
As long as Mowry is GM, the saga will never end. Butler may end up somewhere else, but there will always be Player X that Durl will be pursuing.
Yea, you're right, I'm not asking for specifically on the Rockets' pursuit but more the Thibs/Butler/Taylor stand-off. I don't expect Morey to land him this time.
fwiw: as @Fyreball points out, this is tampering...lulz. Especially since it was released by a national press site, as part of a larger interview. That said, like many crimes/laws, tampering requires the "victim" team to lodge a complaint. And then, even still (since it was such a lengthy interview/article), I suppose Fertitta can claim some comments were off-the-record, and the writer broke his promise. Wonder if Morey is going to have that talk with him about always using "All-Stars" or "Team USA players" and not "Melo" or "Bulter" by name.
Morey cannot be mad, he has no problem talking to the media about the Rockets and even past hypothetical trades and players. At the end of the day, the Rockets are quiet when they need to be.
Oh.. just trade him away Wolves. He ain't resigning... You ain't winning anything with your core group. Why even keep wasting time trying to keep him there.
I can understand doing your due diligence, but the market has spoken. Offers aren't going to get any better.
You could have asked me who would Minnesota want from the Clippers seeing that Jimmy named them. Well let’s see. Only three players make more than 10 million a year that can be traded. Tobias. Gortat. Danillo. What contract/player makes sense and what should make Thibs hang up the phone immediately? Besides that there are players like Lou and Bev and Milos that you can combine. Nice players but no different than EG and right now that’s not what Thibs is looking for. Very doubtful Jerry West is willing to part with his draft picks right now. Nothing wrong with you needing someone like Cod to make you think one way if you don’t know how to break it down yourself. You do you
I was busting your cojones a bit and you get defensive. I just appreciate Codman's posts (not that I need him to do my cap math or thinking for me; thanks for that), even though I know even legitimate rumors seldom come to fruition, whereas you have your scoff set on automatic. But you do you.
I am on board with Tilman if he empowers his basketball people to make basketball decisions. And that is what is happening with Morey.
Interpreted: "We would love to see Jimmy come home but only at the right price. We're not trading Tucker and we're not leveraging all our future trade/draft flexibility to get him here. Wolves will have to take Gordon, some parts, and perhaps a pick. And perhaps we'd take back Dieng in a separate deal but that would mean we keep the pick and they get back Gordon/Knight/parts and they've got to give us back Tyus for a second to replace the two guards we're losing. In any case, Tucker IS NOT on the table for Butler....P.E.R.I.O.D." Left unsaid: "We'd also like to bring home another home town product. And would take on salary to facilitate a deal helping Butler get to Miami to get that hometown product back home. Slow cooking takes a while. Certain time frames have to be met. Otherwise everything isn't done right. Slow winning is the same." My take: I don't have a sense whether we can get either Butler or Winslow. I know Morey is trying like you know what. But we should all know we're not going to go "all-in" on Butler. Or Winslow for that matter. Gotta have assets to pursue another significant upgrade down the line. A Capela/Gordon/parts/picks package for Anthony Davis would be a very competitive offer.
