I think they differ greatly in their approach to healthcare, education, and politicians who take money from special interests.
I haven’t seen much legislation that supports the idea of conservatives backing the 10th amendment in my lifetime. The only time they bring it up is when it involves an issue the Supreme Court has already ruled on that they disagree with. Gay marriage, religious freedom, abortion etc. When it comes to guns or mar1juana... something they disagree with that hasn’t been decided on, they want it to be a federal issue .
but not on what the outcome should be, which is the point. They disagree on what the outcome should be for god in school and gun rights. abortion - killing humans would be the domain of the federal government. it infringes on every single right in the constitution religious freedom - this is obviously in the constitution as a federal issue. good old amendment numero 1 gay marriage - you would find most conservatives and libertarians prefer government have no definition of marriage. Others would prefer to let states decide. give me an example.
Almost every politician agrees on the outcome of almost every issue. They all want America to prosper, be strong and secure, and to lead the way in moral governing. They want America to be a bastion of freedom. They want American citizens to be prosperous and have their health needs addressed in the best possible way. Governing is the different ways to achieve that, so that is why Beto is talking about the differences regarding Education, Healthcare, and politicians that are tied to Special Interests.
Quit tying libertarians to conservatives. They’re not the same. Red states are constantly trying to pass state laws that go against Roe. And by religious freedom I meant red states trying to bring “god into our schools” Cruz never shuts up about it. That’s the opposite of religious freedom. And it’s not hard to find proof on republicans trying to make mar1juana a federal issue. Just google attorney general mar1juana. But you know this. Again conservatives only talk about to 10th amendment when it’s convenient.
Ted Cruz believes in Ted Cruz and that is about it. When I met him 5-6 years ago, he didn't have a single callous on his hands and shook like a limp fish. He is a fake. He doesn't even know the proper way to hold a rifle, yet goes on about the Second Amendment. I get that Republicans vote for him because he is a Republican, but the guy is just not real. I don't see how anyone can find him likable in the least. He is a very creepy guy.
The reality is that both parties are supporting of extending federal powers when it is in their own interest.... at a minimum one party at least doesn't deny it.
Cruz would never favor teachers getting more pay. Instead, he tries every workaround to get private school vouchers passed, including using 529 plans for private schools. Cruz's most extreme opposition to ACA also includes opposing protection for preexisting conditions.
ted cruz clearly opposes gay marriage. he has fervently supported Texas' same sex marriage ban. But even pushing this off to states to decide is a convenient and cowardly dodge of owning opposition to same sex marriage.
No surprise at all. As the elections nears the polls will now be forced to have to actually gauge opinion instead of trying to sway it. We will get a much clearer picture of where the voters in Texas actually stand. The polls do not want to completely lose credibility so they will become more accurate as the election closes in. Tying that in with the right's outrage with the handling of Kavanaugh, Cruz will win easily and it was never as close as they tried to make it.
This is a huge amount of nonsense. It is possible internal polls released by campaigns would be trying to influence people. That almost never happens. No other polls, certainly the respectable ones are trying to influence folks. Their methods of polling are public. They release the result of their polls. They don't change numbers hoping to influence people. That isn't how it works. You have asked others to step out of their echo chamber. Please step out of yours. If you won't, then just try and learn how polling is done, how it works, why some polls are more accurate than others, etc.
they differ on national defense mostly. They dont differ on the 10th amendment. you seem to be thinking the inverse of the 10 amendment is part of the Constitution. its not. the 10th amendment does not say that anything stated in the constitution is solely province of the federal government. it only states that powers not given it in the Constitution are reserved for the state or individual. again you are confused. he doesn't support forcing god into schools, he supports allowing it. that's religious freedom. he also supports school choice so people can go to whatever religious or non-religious school they want. enforcing the law has nothing to do with whether the law should exist. finding information on sessions enforcing mar1juana laws is not relevant to the 10th amendment.
conservatives will say they believe in less spending (though most dont practice this). thats in line with libertarians. as for social policies, I agree they differ. Thats why i said 'mostly' . The biggest difference between the two is handling of foreign affairs. They both definitely agree on federalism and the 10th amendment.
No, what he wants is public school money to go to pay for people that want to send their children to private schools. People can already choose to go to private schools. Wealthy people can afford to send their children to whatever school they want. cruz wants wealthy people to get vouchers to pay the costs of sending wealthy kids to private schools. These moneys would be taken out of public school funding, further hurting schools that less well off kids go to.
