https://uproxx.com/dimemag/jimmy-butler-miami-heat-trade-rumors-minnesota-timberwolves/ A story tying all of these tweets together. Sounded like this was done and then Thibs asked for more.
Have this crazy feeling Morey sweeps in and closes the deal now. Theres no way Jimmy starts the season on twolves roster.
Now Woj story... http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24920173/timberwolves-trade-jimmy-butler-heat-falls-apart
Interesting that Josh Richardson FINALLY got into the discussion in terms of a trade framework. I can see why the deal got close.
Miami had been searching for a third team to re-route a contract, which included conversations on Miami guard Dion Waiters, sources said. Incentivizing a third team with draft picks became one of the road blocks in Minnesota completing the trade, league sources said. Who is going to take on Dion Weighters? Good one Riles!
Honestly, when cooler heads prevail.....the Heat are probably going to get a deal done for Butler since Josh Richardson has finally been put on the table. That was a big roadblock. The Heat relenting in that shows how serious it got. We'll see.
This may be the hold-up... https://dunkingwithwolves.com/2018/...ieng-must-be-included-in-a-jimmy-butler-deal/
I agree there’s no way he starts season with Twolves. But to think we’re still in it is very wishful. By them getting this close and having it fall apart has nothing to do with the Timberwolves not having interest in replacing Butler with EG
