Whether or not she wanted the investigation is not the same as to whether or not she wanted to remain private. Quite the contrary, she may have wanted to testify in front of Congress.

Ford said she wanted her name to remain private in the letter to echoo/ Feinstein. Feinstein said she held on to it for 2 months because of this request.

It's a given the some dem leaked it. Besides ford only dems had it.

The theory I do buy in this case is that Ford knew she had no possible way of making any legal or criminal inroads against Kavanaugh (especially after having been given considerable legal counsel). It's 35 years after a supposed sexual assault. Even under the best of circumstances you're not going to get an indictment, let alone a conviction.

She knew justice was beyond her reach, so this was possibly if not likely a last ditch effort to stop someone she felt obviously extremely unworthy from ascending to one of the 10 most important positions of leadership in our country. A crisis of conscience, if you will.

The uncharitable way to look at is as a politically motivated smear campaign, but logic doesn't really support that line of thinking. At least from the perspective of Dr. Ford. It would be a complete disgrace if elected Democrats disobeyed Dr. Ford's wishes at any turn in this ordeal, but that's a large leap to make at this point.

Yes, and much can and likely did transpire between when Dr. Ford first alerted anyone and when she testified.

I personally know people protesting in DC right now.

They're all the most vain, lazy, and immature people I know.

**** your protests. Go vote. Idiots.

Ford did not leak her own name. She did not choose it.

you are jumping through hoops for no reason. The simple explanation is Ford a liar and this had been planned for months with her dem friends.

Sorry. The simple explanation is not conspiracy.

    It almost never is, actually.

"Ford is a liar and has orchestrated this lie with Democrats for months" is very much in the vein of conspiracy.

You are trying to explain logic to the person who claims that Kavanaugh repeatedly said he'd passed out from drinking when the transcript shows that he specifically denied he'd passed out from drinking.

That was shown to him and he tried to make up some reasons to find a way to pretend that Kavanaugh said he passed out from drinking during his testimony.

You can't make them see if they want to keep their keep their eyes shut.

Ol' Nancy P filing a FOIA request so we can see what the FBI was actually allowed to do (and did) during their investigation which was completely controlled by Republicans.

Of course this will get tied up in legal challenges and eventually find its way to the Supreme Court where Kavanaugh himself will probably be the deciding vote to disallow its disclosure.

    LOL. Government.

For 30 years, she waited until the perfect time to strike. For 30 years, she held Kavanaugh to such high esteem that she knew he was going to one day be anointed to the SCOTUS. This was her one time she could strike and inflict the most damage to him.

Lets be honest here. There are many judges out there that would love to be at his position at this point before being nominated. Considering SCJ are nominated for life, he is at near odds as a person becoming POTUS. There have been 114 SCJ. 45 Presidents. She didnt wait for the perfect opportunity. That would have at least been when he became a circuit judge.

This was just some hail mary attempt, if that. All its done is to further divide the people. And show what both parties are willing to do to get their way into power.
