whats with all these survivors yelling at politicians? As if kavanaugh should be punished for the crimes of others.

Why don't we get people who have been falsely accused of sexual misconduct to storm Feinstein's office? at least Feinstein is actually of guilty of horrible deeds. Then again yelling at politicians in their office is horrible and pointless.

Liked this post earlier but it really was a gem.

They really underestimate the potential of Kavanaugh sinking them. As I pointed out earlier, moderates don't like this. Moderates don't like him, which means democrats like him even less. Wouldn't be surprised if his name is toxic in 5 or so years, especially depending on how he votes on key issues that pop up in the SCOTUS.

Sure, it fires up the GOP base...but that's just the base, the GOP base is always fired up to vote.

One day the ruling party will realize that you don't keep power by just appealing to your base and giving the finger to everyone else.

They weren't looking to lynch anyone. Tuning out the victims of crimes that will get you attacked if you come forward with an accusation isn't what anyone should do.

Because there aren't nearly that many people falsely accused.

Like I wrote, you seem unaware of the lack of civility throughout our history. Vietnam war protesters used to spit on troops who were drafted coming home from horrific combat. Civil rights marches used to be met with brutality. The crazies who scream and shout seem to make up the norm nowadays, but the norm has improved over time.

Yeah they really were figuratively speaking. There was a baseless accusation and that was enough for them to attack an innocent man as a mob. I mean, thankfully they aren't literally lynching people yet, but it's the same mentality. When you assume that people are guilty without any evidence supporting that assumption, you are a terrible person and let's face it, just about that entire mob are terrible people. They can blame it on what happened to them, but it doesn't really matter.

People who don't believe in the presumption of innocence should literally always be ignored, they are the worst of us.

It can be argued it cost her a presidential election. Is that any less than not being confirmed to the SCOTUS?
and that is where the subjective judgement comes in. You see evidence in one case, and not enough in the other. Others would see the reverse. Neither is a violation of due process, as those opinions can almost never impose judicially punitive verdicts. They simply remain the personal opinion of each individual and each is entitled to his own.

With this court, I think we should expect to see strict voter id laws, gerrymandering, and reduced polling places to a very large degree. Republicans will be able to use this to disenfranchise minority voters and overturn a lot of civil rights decisions.

Mitch McConnell is going to go down as singularly changing American law drastically to the right for generations.

I find the I believe her, but she got the most important thing wrong self serving and a deep lie. I have more respect for people that just said I don’t believe her.

The difference of course being that she was actually guilty and provably so. If she had lost due to baseless allegations from her teens, then it would be similar.

Oh but when it comes to your political opponents, a trial isn't necessary. Guilty until proven innocent is quite alright.
