Kavanaugh has potential to be the conservative Hillary. Running Hillary for President was foolish. She so completely enrages the Right, and the Left has always been incapable of seeing it.

You guys all think Kavanaugh is a settled question, it's clear he's a great guy, nobody ever legitimately believed Ford, and it was all a dirty trick and everybody knows it. You dont see how much he is an irritant and motivator for all the SJWs you despise. Legitimately a significant portion of the population thinks Republicans just put a combination of Bill Cosby and a Spicoli on the Supreme Court.

As with Hillary, it doesn't matter which view point is the true viewpoint. All that matters is Kavanaugh has the power to inadvertantly motivate the other side and you guys wont see it unless you are looking at it in the rear view mirror.

I know you wont believe me - that is the whole point. To this day, liberals don't understand the depth of your hatred for HRC. It just doesn't click.

The blowback will not last beyond 2020, if it even makes it past 2018.

Republicans are just way, way better at understanding power and leveraging it than Democrats.

The real issue is the liberal nutjobs don't bother to go vote.

    You have yourselves to blame!

    ^Another great example.

When pubbies get in power they make it harder for people to vote, especially Democrats.

Republicans are playing chess. Democrats are playing Sorry!

It's quite the tilted playing field and it will remain that way until we have the end-all-be-all collapse and we're all fighting in the streets and eating rats for dinner.

Americans can't be bothered to act until the McDonalds runs dry and Teen Mom goes off the air.

You mean like how the Constitution was originally setup? For this very specific reason?

I'm going to say something that might sound preposterous to you so clench your butt....

The founders created a great framework for a structure of government, however their ideas are not infallible.

What? You don't think a bunch of people from 250 years ago purposefully set our government up so that the Republican party would have a persistent advantage in the year 2018?

Let me frame my question this way.

Without invoking the founders, can you tell me a pragmatic reason why a rural conservative's vote should be worth more than a city dwelling liberal's?

Gerrymandering and also the electoral college. The latter doesn't really apply to today's context that well in my opinion.

True, but the Republicans have ammo left to shoot themselves in the foot. Chuck Grassley is already out there saying that he doesn't believe women protesting who are telling their tales to senators about sexual assaults. He claims that he believes they are just paid by Soros. If Republicans pour gasoline on the fire by continuing to call women who suffered sexual assaults are all lying, the fire and movement will continue to be motivated.

They do. If they continue playing with fire, there will be an enormous reckoning in 2020.

However, given what we know about American liberals, as soon as 2020 is over, they'll go back to sitting on their asses and not caring and the whole cycle will repeat itself.

I have not lauded it, but simply accepted it as a normal part of human society. It has always existed, is existing and will continue to exist. People have always made allegations (e.g. Obama birther), some people will believe it and other would not. Even conspiracy theories are some sort of allegation which some choose to believe (e.g. the pizzagate and the guy that shot up a store cos of it). You only find it deplorable cos you dont believe the allegations and would rather believe the accused.

As for smear campaigns, they are par for the course in politics (see Cruz vs Beto). Ignore the intended effect, it is no different from PR campaigns that try to make people seem better than they truly her (e.g. media releases to make Kavanaugh seem better than he truly is).
Does she not deserve due process or the benefit of innocent until proven guilty? Seem you only find it deplorable when the target is someone you approve of. If you were genuinely concerned about the tenets in of itself, then you would object to such, independent of who the target is - not doing so makes you an hypocrite

He's specifically talking about plurality of votes. If the tables were turned and the rules we in his favor, he'd be perfectly happy with the current rules. Some people think they know whats best for everyone else.
