hes gotten good contact all day. hell be fine. he definitely looks way better than the days leading up to now
In that situation, maybe giving up a run to maybe prevent another run (they didn't know what Yuli would do) is a debatable strategy. Throw looked online but we never got a good replay of it.
Down 3, the smart play is do what you can to cut that run at the plate, but of course the fielder has to make a pretty instantaneous decision.
im really not sure he knew where springer was really at. Just judging by the urgency. have to look at the replay again.
Right. It's the catcher's call, he's the one who can see everything in front of him and is yelling CUT(+3-4-5 for the base to throw to) or not yelling anything if he wants it to go through. We'll never know what happened there on the field.
We definitely learned that in little league. I've always wondered, though, if the cutoff man in a major league stadium can actually hear the person yelling at them to cut it or let it go with all the noise.
Only threw 16 pitches. He'd be available to pitch a few innings in games 3 or 4 (maybe even start 4) I'd imagine. Maybe even an inning in game 2?
