Almost 30% of CF thinks Chrrisss will develop into a good NBA player. Wonder if all 30% was voted by BasketballRehab
Some issues, but overall I am pleased. We might be able to make him a decent roleplayer If he will listen. Nice defense on switches. That's a fantastic start.
Only watched 1st half and he looked bad. Offensively and defensively, maybe it was nerves. Very correctable he just needs to take the coaching and mature. If he doesn't then I don't see him ever getting on MDA good graces.
Luckily he looked a lot better in the second half! Honestly seemed like Harden/CP3 were trying to help his confidence with a healthy dose of P&R with him. Chriss had a few solid defensive plays too -- got a steal/transition dunk, switched onto a guard and completely shut him down, and blocked a shot attempt at the rim. Truly think he has the athleticism, skills, and quickness to be a solid backup center for us as long as we have CP3/Harden directing the offense. If he just plays hard and within the system he'll be good. If he develops his IQ and 3 point shot he'll be great.
Mike made a scrub role player journeyman like Lin look good so he can make players with actual talent look really good. Chris’s will thrive under Mike.
While it's true his screens made me want to stab someone in the hip, it's an easy skill to teach. He is certainly not going to catch on quickly, but we don't need him to. If it takes him 6 more months to rebuild his game and discard his bad habits, it would be worth it. Essentially we need him to live with Clint Capela. Eat like him, lift like him, train like him, practice like him. The 3pt shot is going to have to wait till next summer. He is a good project to keep around. Him and Caboclo can be useful rotation bigs after the all star break.
Sure, but it would be really cool if he showed enough to make his option decision an easy yes in the next couple weeks.
Barring a Kelvin Cato-like, miraculous pre-season that is going to be a no, just because of the team's financial position. Doesn't mean he can't be re-signed next summer, but it would be shocking if the team guarantees it at that price.
The only negative that stuck out was he fumbled a couple of passes, they were arguably in some tough traffic though. Harden was throwing some bad passes tonight.
I only caught the game from the 2nd quarter. What I saw was Paul and Harden warming up to him being on the floor. He was making plays left and right. Paul and Harden were in his ear and he was listening. If he is all in, I see him beating out Hartenstein and Nene for that backup center spot. Then once he gets that three point shooting down, Capela is next.
Didn't you see him switching off on a guard and shutting him down? Not only that but he blocked a shot and held his own a couple of times in the paint.
He has the upside of pre injuries Amare Stoudemire. Incredible athleticism and perfect size for the 4 spot.
