It's not Feinstein's decision. If Ford didn't want to be publicly identified and didn't want an investigation, Feinstein has a responsibility to honor that. Ford only came forward when word got out about who she was.

That's not necessarily true. Keep in mind the GOP was ready with a letter from 50+ people to defend him as soon as the leak happened. They knew about it and chose to hide it.

That's exactly the standard the GOP set with Garland, right? But again, Democrats have no power to delay anything - only the GOP can do that. All they can do is demonstrate to the American people what the GOP is doing.

To me this is pretty simple . Sexual assault regardless , the dude has repeatedly lied under oath. We can't have a Supreme Court justice that lies so flippantly .

    Plus , I don't like the name Brent .

Do you think it's bad the Dems are stalling ?

The republicans stalled and denied obama's nominee .

    Politics is dirty.

This dude has lied under oath many times about matters big and small . He doesn't deserve **** .

I think dr Ford is better at manipulation than many are giving her credit for. Hopefully the investigation continues to show that her claim is baseless with regards to the judge. She should have said there was no witnesses and it may have worked out better.

One person called for further investigation ... under oath
One person danced around the topic altogether.

Why did BK keep on stating that Leeland refutes Ford's allegations?

That's a flat out lie. She says she didn't personally witness the incident which Ford doesn't contradict and BELIEVES Ford's allegations happened to her.

BK has reapeadily lied straight up. He is not a credible witness.

She will be fine. It happened so long ago no one will learn more than what has already been put out. I would imagine some new accusers will pop up though

You're telling me Feinstein asked Ms. Ford to approve a private FBI investigation to back up her allegations and Ms. Ford declined? Can you cite a source that confirms this? Otherwise, I call bullshit. It makes zero sense. Unless of course, it never happened....

She went to Feinstein because she doesn't like Kavanaugh and neither do Democrats. That's obvious. NOBODY knew about this on the Republican side, cause she didn't approach them. It would make zero sense.

It's not surprising the GOP had a letter with 50+ people to defend him. They were ready to respond to the obvious Dem attacks that were already in progress. That's smart.

The standard for Garland was set by Joe Biden years ago. Take it up with him.

RIght the Dems are completely blameless with no power. They've just managed to stir up a shitstorm that took a shoo in nominee to the brink of being "Borked".

    ref·u·ta·tion
    ˌrefyəˈtāSH(ə)n/
    noun
    noun: refutation; plural noun: refutations
    1. the action of proving a statement or theory to be wrong or false.
"scientific theory is always tentative, open to refutation"
Ford says LeeLand witnessed the incident.

LeeLand says she didn't personally witness the incident. (what she believes is irrelevant beyond supporting her character)

    Ford's statement is wrong. REFUTED.

Because an investigation could end up providing Kavanaugh with an alibi that would make her claim impossible. The investigation might turn up that she was elsewhere when she claims it happens.

So she would have all of her claims against Kavanaugh shown to be false. Right now it's still he said/she said with possible witnesses/participants not allowed to even be questioned.

What has Kavanaugh got to lose from an investigation? We know what he has to gain, but despite that, he is against an FBI investigation.

A refutation would mean denying the claims. Leeland explicitly states "does not recall" AND believes her.

A refutation is a claim of something. Not recalling is not making a claim one way or the other.

I believe there might be posters in this forum who don't get that he's ever been caught lying in his testimony.
