    A day later, Kavanaugh impressed.

"I did some pretty gnarly stuff back during my fraternity days, so I figured they’d force me to get paddled or chant the Supreme Court motto ‘Equal Justice Under Law’ for a few hours outside in my underwear or stick my thumb up someone’s ass, but this hazing is really putting me through a wringer. But I’ll do whatever I have to if it means they’ll let me be a justice. Supreme Court for life!"

Looks like Joe Donnelly just handed over his senate seat to Mike Braun

    Independent voter here
I do believe her story. What sold me was his refusal for FBI investigation.
I don't understand the rush to get him in. There are dozens of worthy conservative judges to fall back on.

The left should hope RBG can go another 2 or more years ... Or else this thing will swing ultra right.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next time democrats get a president and congress they won't start packing the courts. You just need a simple majority.

If RBG dies in the next year or so, they won't be able to get even a simple majority.....and it's laughable to suggest that they wouldn't try to pack the court if they had the chance.

Let's see if Susan Collins master negotiator can be as victorious as she was last December, when she was able to extract an "Obamacare Fix" from McConnell in exchange for the incredibly popular GOP tax bill that he then threw in the toilet by attaching them to bills he knew would fail.

He's coming out pretty humble, it seems like he knows the rebellion is over and he wants to limit the damage he's done to himself.

So which way are you guys voting on Kavanaugh next week?
They need to be throwing some footballs around while they are eating Chikfila and that room really needs a lot more American flags if they really want to be patriots.

I love that Democrats keep repeating the lie that Dr. Ford's testimony is corroborated by literally anything when they clearly were debunked rather than corroborated. I guess they hope that if they repeat the lie enough times people will start to believe them

Yes or perhaps a petite intern passed out on the floor with train tracks across her.

Spartacus still droning on, perhaps he thinks the rebellion can continue?

Feinberg's team really failed Ford (and the whole process) in limiting their advice to taking the polygraph and hiring Katz's firm--not to mention sitting on the accusation for so long. Had they pushed for the forensic interview (a best practice that presumably Ford herself is familiar with given her own specialization) early, there's a decent chance things wouldn't have come to this.

moderate here...his opening statement was laughable (aren't judges supposed to be non-partisan?)...the denying of the FBI investigation and trying to rush this all through is suspicious...plus he came across like a rich entitled frat boy...and he lied about certain terms, the devils triangle a drinking game? LOL...that being said, you guys underestimate the GOP...they will get him through one way or another

Well yeah, but then no one would have ever heard about the allegation and it wouldn't be politically useful. They found that it was more important to push forward with the last second smear campaign than to respect Dr. Ford's wishes. They wanted their way by any means necessary and any means necessary means that it doesn't matter who you have to step on, who you have to drag through the mud, who you have to try and destroy. Literally the only thing that matters to them is trying to get their way.

If Feienstien had pushed forward with a confidential investigation that would have protected Dr Ford's anonymity this would have all been over weeks ago and Kavanaugh would already be on the bench.
