That certainly would have happened if Fienstien handled the situation properly. The whole investigation and process could have been done in secret to keep Ford's anonymity....but then when her story was debunked as being baseless it would have happened in secret and thus wouldn't be politically useful. That's why her wishes were ignored and her letter was leaked. The Democrats wanted it to be public, and they wanted it to be last second so the least amount of evidence would be known.

If handled properly, Dr Ford's name would have never been known....but then again, we'd have never heard about the allegation as it would have been deemed baseless just as it eventually was anyway, the only difference was that the Democrats ensured that the process would be a circus and that both Dr Ford's name and Brett Kavanaugh's name would be drug through the mud and their families would be put through hell.....all to try and score political points.

 

I always liked him a lot more than a lot of the Democrats, but wow. He must really not believe in Ford's story at all and truly think it was a setup.

 

For sure, if there ever is a credible accusation of sexual assault then it absolutely should be investigated. We still don't have one.

I think part of it is that he's sympathetic to her. She never wanted all of this, but the Democrats wanted to use her and didn't care what they put her through.....they just wanted to try and get their way. I think that pissed him off. Also, I think what they've decided to put Kavanaugh and his family through pissed him off. This was all a calculated political move and it was a really disgusting one.

 

I've been making this point over and over. All of these politicians know they could be next if this "tactic" works (it has already). Where will it end and am I next is all they are thinking.

 

He definitely left logic behind and is being needlessly cruel to Dr Ford. But maybe his base loves that. Maybe he should have risen from his chair and slapped her.

If someone is deliberately trying to drag me through the mud I want them embarrassed with my innocence. There should be an investigation. Dr. Ford should be investigated for being a fraud, right?

His home state is Trumpistan. He sees the writing on the wall. A few months ago he made a strong pivot to Trump and began embracing him. He has become Donald Trump's most vocal advocate in the Senate. Everything he does from now on will be with the intention of staying on Team Trump.

 

While certain Democratic grandstanding was disappointing what is truly disturbing is that the Graham's and BK's of our nation stood in front of the whole country and just tried to impress Dear Leader -- that was their only real audience, and of course, Dear Leader ate it up.

I mean, that's effectively what happened, the Democrats got embarrassed by Kavanaugh's innocence due to the scummy way they handled themselves.

As to Dr. Ford, I fully believe that she believes what she said is true, at least most of it. I think she probably did suffer some kind of traumatic experience in high school.....but the facts don't support how she remembers it. That doesn't mean she's a "fraud", it just means that her recollection is inaccurate.

You act as if he hasn't been elected half a dozen times by his state despite the fact that he's always been a squishy moderate who seemingly just wants to be friends with everyone.....

 

He's performing for an audience of one, likely in the hopes of being appointed as the next attorney general.

Graham really is the perfect representation of the incredible 3 year transition for congressional Republicans from standing up and saying "Donald Trump is not representative of Republican values" to now being bent over a table by Trump with their pants around their ankles while screaming "Thank you sir, may I have another?!"

 

The landscape has changed. People in SC were openly moving to recruit a primary challenger for him.

He went from saying Donald Trump was crazy and unfit for office to saying anyone who says he's crazy is out of line. He went from saying there would be holy hell to pay if Sessions was fired to saying Donald Trump should fire Sessions.

He has literally flipped on ALL of his criticisms of Donald Trump. It has nothing to do with BK.

Ah yes, now everything is different and that's why Graham got pissed off at the shitty way the Democrats handled this situation if not for "the landscape changing" he'd have been on board with Democrats ******** on Dr. Ford and Kavanaugh.....and the entire process for political purposes. Gotcha, that's completely believable.

 

Maybe he's trying to win the Republican nomination in 2020 using Donald Trump's strategy....
