All bs aside, before I read your post in "tone it down" warning (and looked up Poe:s law), i sometimes read your posts as well thought out and very reasonable. Other times, it seemed like you went a little (lot?) over the top on your statements and I couldn't reconcile the two styles of posting.

If it is all legitimately you, I apologize. But sometimes you seem so measured and sometimes your posts seems very aggressive. I guess we all change day to day and posts aren't a very effective medium for communicating. So, all good.

But some part of me, still feels like you may like to yank our chains from time to time?

 

Maybe that's why the ABA is pulling its support and asking for an FBI probe. They are concerned for Senate's and SCOTUS' reputation. Probably their own reputation too as Kavanaugh has explicitly mentioned their vetting and support of his candidacy.

 

Don't we all like to yank the chains and stir the pot?

This has to be done yesterday. Obama appointed 15 SC judges. Trump is only on his second. Obama was never made to wait. It is all theatre.

I'm a pro-lifer and think Kavanaugh should not be confirmed.

 

They occasionally have a leftist piece published. I just now saw a Forbes article that was leftist, on my social media feed. It does happen, even in what were formerly conservative business-oriented publications. I could discuss reasons for this, but that would be a long post.

 

I definitely think so. And, for better or worse, I think this spectacle and debacle -- the optics of the deranged shrieking protestors -- is going to result in a massive red wave in November.

 

Highlight from yesterday ... when asked if he is a belligerent drunk, Kavanaugh belligerently said no.

 

More unbelieveably Ford is a Dr., my god how bad a shape would you have to be in to go to her? She looked totally in shambles and still 15 yrs old.

 

She has a PhD, not a medical degree. She's a researcher and proffesor. She doesn't have patients.

And anyways it's obvious that she was sexually assaulted by someone given the fact that she has made the claim well before Kavanaugh's nomination years ago so keep on making fun of victims of sexual assault.

I was surprised that a professor does not know what "exculpatory" means. But I guess that confirms that the Dems were really scraping the bottom of the barrel...

I'm sure many of my engineering proffesors don't know what that term means .

Her field is in psycology and biostatistics. No where in her degree program and doctorate program does that word need to be taught.

I listened to most of the hearings and while Dr. Ford came off as a credible witness the evidence doesn't support her. I think this case is a good example of why we need to tread carefully here and where Ford's own witnesses can't back her claim there is more than enough reasonable doubt here that would exonerate Kavanaugh, in this particular case. In this case I think the Democrats overplayed their hand and did look foolish several times especially listening to them question Kavanaugh about juvenile slang from the 80's..

That said I don't think Kavanaugh helped himself much except with the President and other partisans. While he successfully raised enough doubts about this particular case he admitted that the squeaky clean boyscout image of him isn't actually true. Further his overtly partisan opening statement while probably reflecting his true feelings shows that he isn't impartial and his judgement is going to be in question regarding any cases dealing with those he considers his antagonists. His, and Lindsey Grahams, angry holier than thou partisan rant just showed how partisan and politicized the USSC has become and infected every branch of government.

After this hearing I'm willing to accept that Kavanaugh isn't guilty of this particular incident but there is still enough to vote against him particularly his view that would weaken the separation of powers by insulating the Executive from indictment or Subpoena. That's not something anyone from either side of the political spectrum should accept and just invites the possibility of more wrong doing from Presidents of any party.
