How so? An equally extreme right wing judge. And what of the next?

Everyone needs to relax. They will vote for him in the committee, and the it goes to the Senate floor. We will probably have 643 more Kavanaugh rape allegations between now and then.

What's so shocking? They stated the committee would vote Friday 2 days ago.

I think Gorsuch maintained the status quo. I think the fear is that a Kavanaugh will tip the Court where progress on LGBT rights, Roe v. Wade, etc. will all be at stake.

Maybe I misunderstood and you are saying that Trump will simply appoint another very conservative Justice. I think concern there for the Republicans is losing the Senate obviously.

The huge social divide is causing a lot of this conspiracies-leaning distrust of the government and it really shows today.
Obama/Hillary, the wealth gap and social media has divided us lately. Obama/Hillary clearly pointed out that smart minorities are starting to get ahead of the usual old money white guy characters. He and the social media have made it clearer that American dream is now a little farther off than it used to be - there is more competition and mere brute will and perseverance is not enough to succeed anymore - the normal order has been appended.

#metoo has added to the hostilities.

Do you feel qualified to vote for Justices? I'm not. :)

I think Kavanaugh gets elected. If Fox News says it doesn't look good and republicans have decided to ram it though then I guess he will be a supreme court justice.

Looks like predict it has it at 65% chance he will get in.

Indeed. Maybe he's our next step toward the lovable Roland Freisler.

    It’s not a fear. It’s a fact.

That being said other than women’s rights, Kennedy was almost always on team GOP. So it’s not going to blatantly change the consistent 5-4 decisions that have been churning out for decades.

The big issue is women’s rights because that’s basically the only issue Kennedy sided outside of party lines.

If Barack Obama hadn't stolen Brett's rightful place at Harvard, he wouldn't have drunkenly attempted to molest women at Yale.

Yeah I pretty much expected that. If he voted against Kavanaugh it would be something that would likely cost him his senate seat. Voting for Kavanaugh ensures he wins re-election.

WHO exposed and thrust genitals in Debbie Ramirez's face? Did Obama visit the dorm party? Kavanaugh said that the whole dorm would have talked about it. (Plausible). So never happened? (Not plausible?). Can't wait for that story to develop...
