At minimum this dude is a lying, arrogant douche. His rambling on about the left and this being a national disgrace was embarrassing. He sounded like AcesDork.

Kavanaugh obviously is willing to lie.

It's the most obvious in the fact that when he references how the entire football team signed "Renate Alumnius" on their yearbook, it was meant as being her friend and not bragging about sex with her.

Ya, that is hilarious and pretty sad that someone as accomplished as Kavanaugh thinks his "it was meant as being friends" defense has any credibility at all.

    Any examples of this?

It seems Democrats gladly toss out their 'own' when these accusations pop up. Ask Al Franken about that.

And the GOP was so hypocrytical. The sobs and indignation of Kavanaugh and Graham.. Graham with a straight face telling us that the Dems would've gotten an FBI investigation if GOP was given more time and BK just stonewalling every plausible question with his parrot response of calendar and four denials and admitting that he doesn't want FBI investigation now or ever. Their line attack towards the end about the leak is completely unfounded (the leak benefited them more than Democrats) but apparently enough for them to charge the process as unfair all the while shouting that there is no evidence of the sexual assault accusation.

An endorsement retracted. Read the explanation. Clearly, if BK is innocent, it’s unfair to him but i tend to agree with this take that there are things more important than one individual. Personally, if I were him and in that position and knowing that I was innocent, I would still gladly withdraw for the good of the Court and the nation.

Ps. I was already against BK prior to the allegation - just see him as not an honest person, plus all the hidden docs...

I agree with the argument that there are things more important than one individual. It is just that I think that the referendum isn't how we do allegations of sexual assault. I think the referendum should be that we can't let unsubstantiated claims about individuals, with no proof, corroboration, that are 4 decades old change our political process. Kavenaugh isn't the hill to die on to protect women from sexual assault.

The hill to die on is not letting the fact that anybody can now allege anything about anybody from any time frame and change the complete narrative of the workings of our government.

I'm expecting someone that can hold their emotions in check while sitting on the highest court in the land. He comes off as someone who will badger attorney's arguing cases before them if he doesn't like something they said. It's not his job to interject his emotions into proceedings. If he can't do it here, who's to say he can while presiding over some of the most important cases we have?

And lucky for the democrats... they just happened to have a person that accused this nominee with sexual assault. But for it simply being a partisan attack, you'd think they would have done it to gorusch too. Somehow missed the partisan marching orders I suppose...

Here is the gist of the article, I believe:

"Judge Kavanaugh continues to enjoy a legal presumption of innocence, but the standard for a nominee to the Supreme Court is far higher; there is no presumption of confirmability. The best of the bad resolutions available in this dilemma is for Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to be withdrawn. If Senate Republicans proceed with his nomination, they will be prioritizing policy aims over a woman’s report of an assault. Were he to be confirmed without this allegation being firmly disproved, it would hang over his future decisions on the Supreme Court for decades and further divide the country. Even if one thinks that Dr. Blasey's allegations are not credible, demonstrating them not to be would require further investigations and testimony."

I feel like we should no longer be relying on our govt to nominate persons. It should be a special election. Theres too much closed door secret meeting where a candidate has to promise to certain stipulation to get nom.

If there is one positive outcome to this... it may have helped those afraid or ashamed to reach out for help...
