Agreed, he's getting too worked up, it's understandable given what he's going through but it won't play well after the propaganda machines go to work on it.

They couldn’t do a criminal investigation but they could do a background investigation on the specific allegations and present findings

He was flustered a few times in the earlier more standard hearings too, but whatever: he could just be a nervous public speaker in general or maybe binge drinking caused a few minor wiring issues. It happens.

 

This part of the hearing is a lot different than the first part now that there isn't a "suck his dick" portion that derails the whole process.

 

In which they'd have gotten the same sworn statements that they already have that debunk Ford's claims and we'd be in exactly the same spot, just later on down the line.

I laughed when he said “drank too many beers” meant whatever the chart says is too many. Lol

A real prosecutor would have pushed him there. He obviously didn’t want to say how many beers he had because a number would be hurtful.

That said, I don’t find his testimony damaging.

 

This may not end well if Kavanaugh comes back wasted.

 

He's an appellate court judge - he's had a gilded glide path in the right wing legal/political machine his entire life.

He's always gotten to be the guy asking the questions, should he deign to, from on high. This is new to him.

It would be great if this episode somehow teaches him some humility and empathy for the less powerful that he has spent his entire career trying to erase from society (that coaching girls basketball...does not undo), but this ain't Hollywood.

What I'm looking forward to is Senator Hirohito from Hawaii who has already said that he's guilty based on being a man and Senator Spartacus who will do his best to tangle with a guy having his own Spartacus moment. Those should be fun.

 

All in all this whole charade should be concerning for everyone.
What's to say none of this would happen to us in our daily lives? You don't have to be running for SC judge to have someone accuse you of something with no evidence.
