The whole thing is disgraceful. And sorry, I can't watch any of it but have heard bits via radio when I can.

I have seen a lot of intense questioning at this level and not that many tears, but this is intense subject matter.

On RADIO, what really struck me is how much he feels he deserves a seat on the SCOTUS. Or like it is owed.

But yes, it would be incredibly challenging whether you were completely innocent or not.

I don't know if only 5 people were there, but I've definitely been to parties with fewer than 10 that I know there were more people in there then I knew personally, but would have zero clue who they were if I ever saw them again and I've had less than half the time to forget meaningless nobodies.

You can be one of the Nazi judges tried at Nuremburg sending handicaped children to Zyklon B showers and the public wouldn't bat an eye without a tearful personal accuser and a tearful character defense to add some TV drama. I seriously can't listen to weapy Brett Kavanaugh without wondering whether it was genuine. If I were coaching him, I'd ABSOLUTELY tell him to sob a little bit if he could, because people trust emotions and that would sway opinion.

Everybody watching and talking about credibility - if the exact same thing did or didn't happen but she was a poor public speaker does that mean her claim was less valid? Speaking in public is a learnable skill, unrelated to truthfulness.

Well that's Ford's version of the story that literally everyone disagrees with so it's hard to know if there even was a party. I've been to a lot of parties with 10 or fewer people, and I don't think I've ever been to one where I didn't eventually meet everyone there and would likely at least remember that I had met them.

 

Correct. the FBI's position is they can't investigate this because its just two private citizens on private property. People bring up Anita Hill, but she was a federal employee accusing her federal employee boss of harassment on federal property. that's federal jurisdiction. federal crime. we have federalism in this country.

That's the problem. This whole thing has been turned into a credibility, TV presence, he said she said farce. That is because there is no evidence, which should have been the purpose of the hearing.
