For those keeping track at home, Avenatti stated last night that his client Julie Swetnick passed a polygraph and that he fully vetted Swetnick's allegations.

    Polygraph 2, Kavanaugh 0.

I have as much faith in Avenatti as I do Kavanaugh.

Would be interesting to do independent polygraphs. This isn't a criminal trial, so polygraphs can count as evidence.

I realize Lindsey Graham thinks it will ruin Kavanaugh's life if he has to settle for just the US Court Court of Appeals for the rest of his life.

Agreed. And it never had to be. Perhaps trump could have made a more careful choice (no, not based on later accusations, but based on earlier instances when kavanaugh was less than honest... should have set off warning flags). And as soon as the stories of sex assaults first came up, the nomination could have been put on "pause" while an investigation of the accusations could have been happened... which could have disproved the accusations and allowed the nomination and vote to proceed, or quietly allowed a change to be made without the "spectacle." Instead, the decision to rush kavanaugh through regardless... and here we are.

That said... I believe there are trump supporters that are actually happy that we are where we are now. Those that applaud his assault on traditional institutions (the courts, the intelligence community, the FBI). They defend trump as "a change agent". And here we are.

Hahahahahaha, how awesome does this quote (from Mike McConnell, yet another of the allegedly respectable Federalist society ultra qualified mega adults) sound now, 3-4 credible sexual assault & batteries later?

Thanks again, @Os Trigonum for your yeoman's work in posting and preserving these classic moments and reminding us that even those who remain as alleged pre- and post-Trump movement conservatives, and thus deem themselves as un-Trumpy, share many of rotting core principles.

What you fail to understand is that investigations aren't done unless the claims are first deemed credible. Credible doesn't mean true, it just means that they are supported enough to move forward with the process. When I say these allegations aren't credible, it's based on the fact that they aren't supported by anything. If these claims were credible, there would be police investigations into them because they are alleging serious crimes without statute of limitations. The claims simply aren't credible enough to start that kind of investigation.....but of course you want one....anything to delay the process right?

    He is a moron.

He reminds me of a tiny dog foaming at the mouth and barking through the fence at the slightest noise.

Just shake your head and walk away... just be glad you didn’t birth him and don’t have to experience his misery first hand.

Agreed, and it never should have happened in the first place. Setting precedent that you'll allow a nomination to be derailed by baseless allegations is a dangerous one....and it's likely one that Democrats will complain about when it comes back to bite them as these things always do.

Literally nothing I said was wrong, so you are just showing your ignorance with that response.

I've already shown you why it is wrong but you keep making the same claim despite there having never been enough investigation to determine credibility or not. I'll go ahead and get off the merry-go-round at this point.

Okay, fair enough, you are just ignorant on the subject and wish to remain that way. I can accept that.

Ah, so the story first came up after 30 years so that she could win an argument with her husband over specifics when remodeling their house. Then it was used to win an argument over when she should testify. Now it's being used to win an argument over who to put on the SCOTUS. Seems legit.
