Uhhhh... that is dramatically unfair to the document, broseph.

"After that May 2012 therapy session, I did my best to suppress memories of the assault because recounting the details caused me to relive the experience, and caused panic attacks and anxiety. Occasionally I would discuss the assault in individual therapy, but talking about it caused me to relive the trauma, so I tried not to think about it or discuss it. But over the years, I went through periods where I thought about Brett’s attack."

You're being very judgmental to suggest this a "suppressed/repressed memory line" and it's so odd to you, in your (?) expertise in clinical psychology that you question hers? Seriously? What she wrote sounds pretty typical of an assault victim, actually, from the cases I unfortunately know of.

On topic of questioning, the more I learn about the woman who will do the questioning (from the prosecutor's office in Maricopa County), the more impressed I am at the Senate's choice in this matter. She really doesn't appear to be a partisan hack or attack dog. She's often, actually, a victim's advocate. Should be fascinating, in a sad way, to see the events tomorrow. A woman who normally prosecutes offenders will be trying to, at least to some extent, erode the credibility of a woman who claims to be a victim.

You seem surprised that they would go high when countering the lowest of lows.

Yea its a huge Republican political ploy to drown out those real accusations.

CNN still hasn't fixed their below tweet even though the guy recanted. But it doesn't matter because CNN is obviously working for the Republicans. didn't you guys get the memo?

Why do people watch Tucker Carlson?

    Genuine, judge free zone, question.

Yes, after reading her statement, I am more inclined to giver credibility to her belief than I was before. It is still too early to make a judgment one way or the other, but I do believe her sincerity. Her testimony reminds me is in line with other people I've known that were victims of sexual assault.

Can't someone coach Tucker to not look so much like a mole while his guests are talking?

Or is that important for the viewing demographic?

I'll be honest. Long ago, he was a conservative I respected. This was back during his first exposure on CNN's Crossfire. I thought he had humor and was usually consistent with his beliefs. I respected him even when I disagreed with him which was almost all the time. I started to grow weary before he even left CNN. He has only gotten worse. Until about a year ago, I held out hope that maybe he would find his principles again, but it didn't work out that way. He is now amongst the lowest of the low.

I mean I guess. If we are going with analogies then to me it's more like a doctor completely rejecting the use of MRIs, xrays, taking blood pressure, or any blood tests because they don't want to see what is wrong.

I think they just like the gotcha stuff he does with guests. He's painful to watch.

Have fun with this one. Someone said circus. Probably an understatement.

P.s. remember the Ed’s amazing detective work...

when the rubber meets the road, he back-pedals.

    Trump defends Brett Kavanaugh,
but says he could be persuaded to change his mind

During a press conference that lasted more than an hour, Trump seemed to veer from one extreme to the other in answering questions about the sexual assault charges against Kavanaugh.

While calling the accusations as "con jobs" by Dems, he also said Kavanaugh's main accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, should be able to air her allegations publicly and that he could be persuaded by her account.

“It’s possible I’ll hear that and I’ll say, ‘Hey, I’ll change my mind,’” Trump said. “I can’t tell you. I have to watch tomorrow.”

IIRC, after CNN, he hosted a MSMBC show, "The Situation w Tucker Carlson" w Rachel Maddow as his liberal-leaning co-host.

for Tucker, it was an unfair pairing; Maddow's ability to articulate her nuanced positions made the lesser-informed Tucker come across
as the male version of Sarah Palin. It became obvious that it was the de-facto Rachel Maddow show, w Tucker being the excess baggage.

Well she said that she did her best to suppress the memories that's why I'm saying that. I was past the suppressed memory stuff until she mentioned it. The quote you posted is the one I was referring to when I wrote my post before.

Maybe I am being judgmental since this is completely opposite to how I process things and yes I am questioning it. It's ok to question people's actions especially when they run completely contrary to a field that they studied for years that very directly deals with addressing mental trauma through many different therapies that confront trauma. Further, I question doctors all the time when I have to go see them for various ailments even though I am not a medical doctor. I try to do my best research that I can. I've run into far too many doctors that suck and that have made problems worse...but that's an aside.

It's odd to me that she wouldn't be seeing some sort of clinical psychologist herself, and only addressed it very slightly in couples therapy. Like I said it's just really strange to me considering her background. I acknowledge there are doctors who aren't good with their own problems, but to completely ignore all the therapies you learned about in your academic career is just mind boggling to me. I also get that her story sounds typical of an assault victim but she is not a typical assault victim especially after decades of training in psychology. I acknowledged that we all deal with trauma different, but the fact that she said she actively tried to suppress this and never dealt with this fully through therapy still until this day (at least she did not mention any therapy) is amazing to me. That's all.

An eyewitness to one of these attacks would probably sink this nominee.
