Do you want to be buried or cremated? Once you have past away of course .

This conversation came up this past weekend with some friends, There were several different takes. I honestly have no clue what I want to do.

This is one of those life decisions that requires truly no anxiety. Who cares? You're D-E-A-D

In reality, it doesn't matter. But I love history. I love the attention and detail of some of the historical sites I have visited. So that being the ideal, I would like to be buried. I would like a cement bier with a relief of me carved into the top. I have picked out music to be played with bagpipes and other songs to be played as recordings. I still have a lot of work to do to be able to afford that kind of thing, but I have my goals set.

Not quite that elaborate but that's the idea.

first i would want to donate as much of my body as i could to help others...eyes, bones, skin, ect. it would be super-cool to get my tattoos skinned and put on someone else like a burn victim for example...or just let this guy have them since he already has a collection.

then take whatever is left and turn me into a tree...

Ignoring the tattoo portion because that's creepy as f*** and I don't have any, this is exactly what I want to do. I am to be a donor (in honor of my mother who was a recipient of a kidney that gave her 12 years she wouldn't otherwise have had).

I did recently change my mind on the question though. As a Jew, I always thought that cremation was not allowed. Even though I'm by no measure religious, there are a few things that have always stuck with me and that was one of them. Then, my aunt passed and she was cremated. Then, my mom passed and she was cremated...which completely surprised me. She was traditional in many more ways than me and I never thought it was possible. Apparently, she had a conversation with a rabbi that said it is accepted practice now. So, being buried in a coffin (even a traditional jewish one which is nothing more than a basic pine box) is expensive and silly. I'd love to be...well...planted for a tree. If not that, then I'd want to be cremated and my ashes left in various places.

I just assume they throw my corpse on the side of the road to decompose. I have no qualms about what my corpse is used for. I'll be dead so I won't know anyway.

@MRS_KILLATRON2000 tells people I want to have a Viking funeral (funeral pyre on a boat). I have no idea where she got this. I certainly didn't tell her that. I specifically said I want to be shark chum.
