Trump's hesitancy to attack Avenatti has probably been the most telling part of this entire saga.

Now that the seal is broken, I expect all hell to break loose between the two of them.

It makes sense that a hard-charging, brass-balled, bombastic lawyer would be the inevitable counterweight to Trump.

Months ago I told a friend of mine I expect Avenatti to win the Presidency in 2020 because he is the only one willing to punch the bully in the mouth.

Avenatti is not the Trump antidote we wanted, but he's the one we deserve.

Nobody would be able to say there are no credible allegations without some sort of actual thorough investigation. That hasn't been done and is being prevented from being completed by the Republicans in Congress.

You conveniently ignored the point I made about how significant it is to have a lifetime justice (serving as the main check to the legislative and executive branches of our government) to be of high moral character (and politically impartial - at least relatively so). I miss the days when Justices were elected with super majority.

Anything can be done when/if there is a political will for it. Even the constitution can be amended.

This dishonest type of arguing on your part triggers me: avoiding big points; straw men arguments; attrition-type resorting to same arguments over and over despite being proven wrong on them before, citations on citations.

I have already proved before with good accuracy that you are nothing more than a tribal hack with a sprinkle of misogyny whose main principle on this forum is appearance of winning. Trump like. Your name should be Bobbythetrump.

    Enjoy

That's not true at all. When allegations provide details and supporting evidence or corroboration, they can be said to be credible long before they are investigated. In fact, in order to start the investigation the claims have to be seen as credible. You know, that's why they can't get criminal investigations going....because it takes more than hot air to get the ball rolling and right now that's all they have. You can't just roll up accusing people of being inter-dimensional child molesters and have that trigger an investigation.

It's still funny to me that you think the Republicans not forcing the FBI to investigate baseless BS is them "preventing" it. That's some quality mental gymnastics on your part.

By all credible accounts Kavanaugh is of high moral character.....so I'm not sure what point you were trying to make here.

LOL, that's just flat out stupid, but I don't doubt that you somehow think that, it would go along with a lot of the other stupid things you claim to believe.

In a court of law a lawyer would explain to the jurors what the life is like for a 15 year old girls in 1982 surrounded by elite all-boys prep schools.

The author of the posted federalist article just suggests that we all have a good idea of what that life is like and proceeds to use stereotypes instead of explaining the background on which she bases her stereotypes.

It's a baseless speculation with no effort to substantiate it with even with a few facts. I hope nothing like that happens in the actual court of law!

And sure, you are welcome to your common sense - in fact I posted my common sense based on my own experience and that was totally contrary to the common sense suggested in the article.

The first two accusers were not enough I guess to warrant reconsideration.

    Edit:
This is not normal. USSC nominees can only be vetted so much. Things will get missed. In face of multiple, credible accusations a normal POTUS would suspend the process and have the FBI thoroughly investigate the accusations. The FBI may clear the nominee from the accusations and the process can be resumed.

Not Trump. He only sees this as a personal win or a loss. With the win being, worst case, that a sexual predator gets a seat of the USSC for the rest of their live. He does not care. This is not normal.

You could easily be describing any of the 3 allegations with these exact words.

He better hope the Republicans hold the Senate, because he won't have a prayer of getting a Nominee thru (Democrats will do what the Republicans did to Obama's nominee). If he loses the House or the Senate, he is Presidency is DONE. Nothing will pass.

Are there any women in HS and college that Kavanaugh didn’t try to rape?

I am sure this has been answered. Why though was a supreme court justice not appointed during Obama's last year? It was said to wait after the election, to then establish a mandate. Correct?

Why not wait for a mandate until, after the midterm elections, both timelines are similar.

Well the republicans had the senate and they could do it. The democrats don't so they have no say in it. We used to have the 2/3 rule, but republicans got rid of that rule.
