Are we going to get a division clinching champagne locker room party? I guess if Oakland loses tonight...we won't get it? But, if it happens tomorrow, then we will get it the post-game coverage if we win? One way or another...we need that celebration!!! I hope Oakland wins tonight...because we won't get it on TV...will we?
If Oakland loses tonight we will have our locker room party after the game tomorrow. Sparky is ready I’m sure.
Hinch stated in the postgame McCullers will pitch tomorrow. Didn't specify whether he's starting or relieving, but I'd lean to the latter in preparation of the postseason.
You know you are team of preposterous talent when you can pretty much have a B+ season, and still win 100 games.
Just look at the Pythagorean W/L. Had we not had so many injuries (Altuve/Correa/Springer) at the same time, even with bad luck, we would be looking at 110-112 wins. Some of us are spoiled, this is a dominant team... this is a team like those A’s teams and some of those Yankees teams.
Very true. This roster is absolutely stacked when you factor in the depth of pitching they have built up. Wasn’t too long ago we didn’t have Justin Cole pressly osuna and josh James and framber weren’t in the picture. We’ve gone from an average to slightly above average pitching staff pre Verlander trade in summer 2017 to the best pitching staff in the ML by a bit of a margin entering the 2018 postseason . Pretty amazing work by luhnow... and by Brett Strom.
Tomorrow's game seems like a huge toss-up with Devo starting. Hinch obviously not treating that game as a must-win. But, we'll see how it turns out. I hope we don't have to wait past tomorrow for that celebration. We certainly don't want to wait until the very last game to clinch.
Tune in tomorrow for an exciting showdown between the Fresno Grizzlies and Toronto Blue Jays. Come witness minor league player of the year Kyle Tucker strut his stuff next to an outfield of Tony Kemp and Myles Straw. Watch as Tyler White does belly flops on the infield dirt at shortstop. Maybe JD Davis will make an accurate throw to first base! First pitch at 3pm CST: don’t miss it.
